Did everyone find a solution for this problem? If so what was the solution. My 2011 335i auto has the idle surging issue during low speed parking and or driving into the garage. I have to keep some pressure on the brake pedal to keep the car under control. It appears to be getting gradually worse. It makes me think that there has to be a steering related sensor or transmitter that is possibly going bad.

I have the V3 software, but am kind of worried about bricking my DME when updating it. My dealer told me they have updated me to the latest software anyway and I still have the problem somewhat. Any suggestions?

Your dealer lied. There are 3 updates from your ZB. 8666630 being the latest.
I appreciate your help! Can't believe they lied to me and said they updated it to the latest software.

Sent you a PM

Just got my DME updated from BimmerGeeks! Great guy to work with and everything went smooth and easy. I will respond back once I drive the car but hopefully this fixes my problem! Highly recommend BimmerGeeks!

Interested to hear your results. I have been battling this for awhile. I have accepted it, but if I can fix it that would be great.

Can they update your DME remotely or is it something that has to been done on site? I really want to figure this issue out, it is driving me crazy. I get it when pulling into the garage or parking spots with the AC off. I also seem to get it when coming to stop when the AC is on.

4/2011 build 2011 n55 335i xDrive with 50k on odometer and I've been experiencing same surging idle at low speeds particularly whiles turning the steering wheel when parking

My car has been doing this since 40k miles when I bought it.

I mentioned it to the bmw dealership while the car was still under warranty and they went thru everything and couldn't find an issue.

A tech said the surging was a normal N55 E90 thing that happens when steering at low speed.

Sometimes it is a soft surge other times the surge in rough and the car seems like it is lurching forward on its own

Seems like we all experiencing the same thing

They can update your DME remotely, as long as you have a laptop. They can send you out a K+DCAN cable to do the coding, but when they updated my DME they used my personal cable I already had. Very easy process!

Please let use know the outcome. I already have the DCAN cable. I love my car but this is really frustrating.

I finally got around to drive the car today. I am happy to say that the DME update did fix the surging problem for me! I can now turn the steering wheel at slow speeds with no surging!!

I have some questions related to the DME flash. Do I need to remove my MHD tune in order for you to update the DME remotely? What is the cost to update the DME remotely if I already have the K-DCAN cable? How long does the process usually take?

JB4N,

Just a followup, is the surging still eliminated? Did it completely get rid of the low rpm surging that happens during tight turns at idle speeds? Did it get rid of the rpm surge that happens when you come to a stop with the air conditioning running? Did you notice any other changes created by the DME update?

I'd check for a grounding issue as well. Software could be the answer but sometimes it's the simple things.

Were you having issues with the idle surge when coming to a stop with the air conditioning running too? Or just idle surge when turning the steering wheel tightly at idle speeds?

The surging is gone when turning while driving slow! I never had the AC problem with the idle. The DME update fixed my problem!

I was just having problems with surging when going slow and turning the steering wheel from lock to lock.

MHD Tuning Martial, I have a few customers contacting me regarding this also. Is this something you can address in the next revision?
