NGK 95770 being discountinued or backordered? Factory plugs fine stage2+ ?

I saw a post on a FB group on this subject and thought it was just rumor but I was about to get new coils and plugs as a after winter tune up since I have no idea when they were last changed and noticed on FCP the NGK 95770 are now backordered with no ETA... I remember like 2 months ago they had stock.

Can I still run Factory Bosch plug? I don't expect to go over Stage 2+ FBO in the future. Right now at Stage 2.

Many folks including myself still run factory Bosch at Stage 2+. It is true the NGK are on backorder with no ETA. Last I heard was maybe June.

Ok thanks guys. I'll get the Bosch!

I also just noticed there are Bosch, Delphi or even Eldor coils to. Bosh and Delphi are both listed as OEs.

Bosch is OEM for N54, Delphi is oem for N55, the Delphi seems to be better with life expectancy due to construction. I plan on going Delphi coils soon.

I'd recommend the Eldor coils. I purchased them for my car recently. They are much more stout, and heavier than the oem Bosch they replaced. Very good construction, no issues with them.

I suggest going with OEM Bosh coils over Delphi. Delphi life span is pretty short. I've replaced 3/6 Delphi coil within a year. I switched to Bosch and haven't had any issues since.

I've also heard issues from another member here on his N55.

I think I will stick with factory stuff so Bosch and Bosch. Good to know.

NGK coils seem to be holding up well after 18 months...stage 2+ for most of the time :-)

Use the 2 step colder NGKs, we suggest them for all tuned applications. They are the same plugs used in the N20 and newer M5 motors.

Yes, I suggest it for all tuned applications. Idles great, less misfire prone, doesn't cost much more. Just be sure to properly set the gap. BMS makes a nice tool for that as do others.

Did you gap your N55 plugs or just threw them in stock?

Eldor coils are the latest and greatest. Buy them from FCP and get a lifetime warranty on them
