Betalink adhesive alternative

I need to reglue a PDC sensor holder on the inside of my bumper. I would rather not spend $40 on some special BMW adhesive for a single use. Anyone know of something else that I could use?

Will be gluing it like this: https://www.m3post.com/forums/showpo...7&postcount=15

Not sure why simple regular 2-part epoxy would not work, or JB Quick/JB Weld. I use Gorilla glue on all sorts of items too. My 2 cents.

If you can money-shift it, it's a manual transmission. "Yeah, but NO ONE puts an automatic trans shift knob on a manual transmission."

+1 for the two-part epoxy.

I was going to use BetaLink for my spoiler. But I have a friend that ruins a body shop that recommended some industrial type of 3M double sided tape. You can't buy it in an auto parts store.

He gave me a roll and said they use it all the time to mount external parts that aren't very heavy. Also told me to use multiple small pieces and not long strips of it.

My spolier's been on for 3 months now, and it's not coming off without some serious work!

I buy all my adhesives etc from stores that supply to trades. They have the good, high-VOC stuff and not the watered-down commercial crap, and would no doubt carry what your friend provided to you.

My guess is there are places like this in your area. Worth checking out if you ever need something and don't want to bother your buddy!

3m is what I have used but for some reason the corner of the thing keeps coming loose. Last year I pulled the entire thing loose and re installed it again but after few months the corner lifted again..

3m VHB is good enough IMO. I've had my spoiler on for 4 years using 3m VHB and it's been fine. You just need to make sure you prep the surface well.

I agree with this opinion. 3M is the best choice.
