Retrofit M3 cluster coding help

Hi,
I recently installed a used retrofit M3 cluster(not virginized) into my 2007 335i and the everything in the cluster works as in the correct mileage(plus tamper dot), dynamic redline on cold start along with the correct 7k redline except the RPM gauge doesn't seem to work. I'm curious to figure out if the RPM isn't working due to the lack of coding. Does anyone know if this is a coding or mechanical issue? Any feedback will be greatly appreciated. Thank you for taking your time to read this.

If it's just the RPM gauge It's likely a problem with the worm gear behind. They often pop out. Just need putting back in.

To check, use tool32 and set the rpm gauge to any rpm. The needle should move. If it doesn't, it'll be the worm gear.

You should 'virginize' it and code it properly though to be sure.

Hi Sensible_,
Thank you for responding!
I was able to test the cluster through one of its features, Ki test, and the needle moves just fine. Does this mean the needle isn't moving because of the coding? How much would it cost to have the cluster virginized and coded?

I will contact Levanime right away and I really appreciate your quick responses. I was going to return the cluster because I thought the needle was defective, but now I know it's coding issue. I will quickly get this solve and update this thread ASAP on my coded cluster.
