Alpina D3 (facelift) arrives on UK showroom floors at £31,585

The new BMW Alpina D3 Bi-Turbo saloon has arrived on UK showroom floors priced at £29,950 when equipped with a manual gearbox and at £31,585 when opted with an automatic transmission. Based on the recently facelifted BMW 3-Series sedan, the Alpina D3 utilizes a modified version of the 123d's 2.0-liter twin-turbocharged 4-cylinder diesel engine producing an output of 214HP at 4,100 rpm and an M3-beating 450Nm (332 lbs)of torque at 2,000 - 2,500 rpm.

Alpina claims that the D3 Bi-Turbo saloon can reach a top speed of 152mph (245 km/h) while performing the 0-62 mph (100 km/h) sprint in 6.9 seconds. Not bad at all especially when you take into consideration that manual version returns a combined economy figure (EU cycle) of 52.3mpg UK (that's 5.4 lt /100km or 43.6 mpg US) with 143 g/km of CO2.

whats up with those grooves on the front bumper... Front lip spoiler area..

just the pic?? looks sloppy

EDIT: also need to note this car (most likely) is NOT available in the USA.. as the 23d's are only available out of the U.S. im sure this will remain along the same lines...

Those are the Decal stripes as part of the alpina decal set, not grooves. Looks worse in the pics than in real life....

Looks excellent, think it would look even better with traditional blue / green Alpina stripes

Really like it, Alpina have done a great job yet again!

Dont like it here, new 330i got to be a better bet. 6 cyl, more hp, petrol, same price, better 0-60 times. A sheep in wolfs clothing or am i missing summat on the suspension/ handling/interior? Looks the the chav edition to me.

i would prefer a 330d for less money. or a 535d for less... the pound is dropping but that is one very expensive 4cyl car with not a lot of features as standard.

May be better 0-60 - but thats a hella lot of torques, I bet it will keep up with 330i from 50 onwards?
