It's been 3+ years since my car was pro tuned 2008 - e92 335i stage 2+ 93 octane, lately I was smoked almost by an s4 not sure if it was stock anyway don't matter. I have no error codes but I just re-flashed my car with the pro tune map again and getting timing pulled on all cylinders. How much timing pull is safe can someone help me out and look at my pull 1st 2nd 3rd and 4th gear pull. THANKS!

These cannot be an issue related to our tuning as we do nothing with those codes. Those sensors strictly report on what they see and the codes are thrown due to an issue in the reporting. Common issues for O2 codes are swapping sensors harness plugs during downpipe installation, exhaust leak pre-cat, or damaged sensors.

29D1 misfire, cylinder 5

Misfires are common on these cars and are normally either plugs, coils, failing injector, or carbon build-up on the intake valves.

2ABC charging pressure sensor, electrical
3100 Air charge control, shut-down

These two are the main cause of the limp mode. The 3100 code is basically just letting you know that the boost control was shut down and a limp mode was initiated. You need to look for other codes to indicate what the problem actually was. In the case, the DME reported an error with the MAP sensor. This could be as simple as a loose harness connection, but it's reporting a loss of signal.

If you had seen under or over boost codes, that could be due to a tune not working well with your particular vehicle (assuming there wasn't an actual leak), but these codes are not something that should be tuning related. When running a tune, problems can become exaggerated due to the entire system doing more work. As I said I'd be happy to view some logs if you'd like to send them over.

Either way, I would start by checking connections to the MAP sensor and verifying there are no exhaust leaks. If you log STFTs and LTFTs, it should give you a good idea of why the O2 sensors are throwing codes.

I'm happy to help, but you'll get a lot faster responses if you email me or call one of the techs.

good lord this is a large thread,

i am experiencing the same exact issue with the same exact ecu and map IjE0s stage2 agg + fmic st throttle v402 getting the P2ABC/P3100 prior to these codes i got P30FE , went ahead and cleared the P30FE and consistently get P2ABC/P3100 on hard pulls there after, im going to try changing the tune back to just stage 2 non aggressive and see if it does the same, i put the car back to stock and did not get codes which leads me to believe its tune related, i plan on doing a custom tune in the near future but wanted to know... if this isnt tune related , what would be causing exactly

The map voltage for your TMAP sensor needs to be adjusted. A ProTuner should be able to do this for you.

Until then remove the TMAP sensor and clean it and see if the code comes back.

im on IJE0S, but question that just came to mind,
ive had the tune on the car for a few years now never had an issue till recently .. i would have assumed that if its voltage it would have been giving issues since day 1 .. no ?

- to remedy the issue i installed the new NGK plugs and some coils it went away for a few days after i uninstalled the cobb and re-installed it ( when i added 2 coils to #1 and #2 ) ..

Hi all,
I just want yo share my recent story/situation with Cobb. I recently got some VRSF catless downpipes. I also have their 7" FMIC, charge pipe with BOV, MFactory LSD, with solid diff mount, and a gen2 HPF exhaust. I switched to the Cobb stg2 aggressive + FMIC, I also changed my plugs and coils and thought I was good to go. After a day of driving I got a P2C31 code. I have been resetting this code for about 2 months. Finally took it in to my shop. The wires were not switched on the sensors and the sensors were tested and were deemed good. One of their techs had some experience with Cobb and said that their tunes are not for catless downpipes. I called Cobb twice and spoke with Brandon and he confirmed I will need another tune that is for catless downpipes. SO, if you're gonna go catless I'd look for another tune. I'm gonna probably go with MHD.

Thats odd. I just look at the Stage 2 Aggressive map and it supports catless downpipes
All of my customers that are still on COBB are not having this issue. Post some logs so we can better identify what the problems is

We must be subscribed to a lot of the same threads BQ

All Cobb Stage 2 maps have the cat efficiency codes disabled (29F4 and 29F5) for catless DPs. 2C31 is not the same thing, it's a trim code. If you're 1000% *positive* the connectors aren't crossed and the sensors are actually in their correct original locations, something else is up that switching to MHD is almost guaranteed not to resolve.

Post a log for BQ to look at, one bank's fuel trims are probably all jacked up because DME is getting bad or no reading.

Thanks guys. I will do some logs and post them. I am still puzzled that a support staff at Cobb would tell me that their stage 2 does not support catless downpipes. More to come...

Cobb is long out of the N54 world. You basically have 3 options that are supported:

1. MHD

2. jb4.

3. Both.
