Inlets at 86k miles?

Should I be hesitant to spend the money on inlets and installation with 86k miles on the clock?

I'm concerned about the turbos going sooner than later.

I would wait until you replace/upgrade turbos if it is a matter of $.

I installed inlets at 110k and pushed 22psi out of my stock turbos. Still going strong but replacing them now for even more power.

They put less stress on your turbos at the same boost level, you'll be fine.

Yeah, but to actually reap the benefits of inlets on stock turbos in the first place you gotta crank up the boost a bit...that's the whole point.

It's the equivalent of adding catless DPs to an otherwise stock vehicle; "less stress" but huge waste of effort.

Having a set of inlets and DP's will net you more power at the same boost level while reducing stress at that particular boost. You can up the boost if you want to get the added benefits of the inlets, but it's not required. Either way, going up a couple pounds of boost with inlets will maintain roughly the same stress on the turbos as you've been putting on them with your current set up.

I disagree, just had inlets and dp installed running factory tune and it transformed the car, it's a completely different animal and hits triple digits with little effort. The power increase across all ranges has transformed completely. Foe day to day driving it has plenty of power. Will do MHD to bring it all together and I'm sure it will transform the car to the next level but right now it's fantastic.

Running 30psi with inlets at 116k miles. These engines are super stout with proper maintenance and proper warm up periods

Way easier to replace when the car is a part while replacing the Turbos. It can be done as an install by itself, but almost no one has said it's an easy install doing it this way.

Inlets will help alleviate restriction pre-turbo which lowers your wastegate duty cycle. It will benefit new turbos as well as older turbos.
