So like the title says I cracked the plastic cap for the pcv valve when I was replacing it. Anybody have any suggestions how to take it out before I take off the valve cover lol

Get a small 90 degree drill and drill the rest out, try to keep away from the cover... try to break the rest out.
If you need a new cap, I just replaced my valve cover and I can give you my cap ... you just pay postage.

I actually tried doing that but didn't have too much success since the new pcv valve was in the way. I bought the new metal pcv valve but then now that it's stuck and I broke the cap I was looking everywhere for a new one and found an all metal one. Now waiting till tomorrow for the new gasket and new metal cap and pcv valve so I can take off the valve cover. It's all apart right now just need to unbolt the cover🙏

Something tells me that you will be buying a new valve cover if you are not really careful. I'd still use the heat gun and try and free it that way. Put some anti-seize on the threads of the new metal cap....

Were tightening this instead of loosening it up? How did it break?

I can't see how it can seize, with all that oil ... it is just very tight due to the rubber seal.
I usually use some oil on the seal when I install it, makes the cap come off much easier whenever you need to remove it. Although this is a set and forget item, once you put RB valve in there, you never need to remove it.

Well... until you get a new valve cover.

RB recommends to replace the PCV valve & hose/ valve every 50k

This is the first metal cap, if I read that correctly, I have seen break. Probably it was tightened down too much to begin. I agree. A little oil on the threads & rubber o-ring should prevent this. Sometimes, because you are coming at it backwards, as you face the front of the engine, people can tighten it vs loosen it up.

OP. If you end up having to replace the VC, make sure to get an OEM VC & gasket and couple it with Ultra Black. Sandwich the gasket in-between two beads of Ultra black before you put it on the head.

OEM cap is plastic.

Rob's valve is metal and I think his replacement cap may also be metal.

Why silicone? Is absolutely not necessary.

I ordered a new valve cover gasket along with a new pcv valve (again) that comes with a metal cap and the brand is ftp Motorsport which I ordered all from turner motorsport. since I could not find a cap anywhere and now it will be metal. It should be delivered within the next hour or so and I already have the car disassembled and ready to do the swap.

I second this. The design of the gasket is to be used clean, on clean surfaces.

I had already ordered one so it's fine but thanks for the heads up. The one I ordered was a metal cap also so never got to worry about it and looks a little better.
