iPE Exhaust - SOLD
So I bought an iPE exhaust about 3 months ago from naynay
I heard a M4 drive past and thought - wow, that sounds great - I need to make my 335 sound like that! I had to make it fit the convertible, which has a big suspension mount and bracing right in the middle of where the exhaust runs. Therefore, we have had to modify the exhaust. Here's what it looks like on: http://1drv.ms/1KOuoYJ Well it didn't really sound like an M4, but I solved that problem another way Looking for around $1500 or so. It's working perfectly and I have the two remotes and it's probably done about 1,000km since I bought it. Last edited by mmmmQuattro; 06-10-2016 at 05:13 AM.. |

In terms of it fitting, yes, it will fit, but it might be better to have it slightly modified. What I had to do was remove the flange coupling between the centre pipe and the rear muffler. This is because there wasn't enough room, so the centre piece is now directly connected to the rear muffler. Here's the bottom of a convertible: The iPE exhaust has the flange in the wrong place: Here you should be able to see how the exhaust is modified: |

Is it a single 3" pipe?
Looks like a strange design splitting into a T right between the mufflers. |

Sorry if I haven't had a chance to reply to the PM's - been crazy busy.
Yes, it's still available. I am hoping to get it off the car next week. Shipping from Melbourne to Adelaide was $60 using Pack & Send last time. I think it might be a bit more, as I it's now longer as we had to remove the flange. This is why I am selling it at a discount. When driving, I often leave it in Auto mode, as it opens up at higher revs - sort of like the M4 It's a full system and you do lose your secondary cats. |

Here's a quick video showing how loud the cold start is.
I didn't have the valves open. Then there's a comparison to the M4. http://s700.photobucket.com/user/jpd...20iPE.mp4.html |

Also, I have catless downpipes, so if you don't it won't be as loud. I can take some more videos if anyone wants them. Also, if you have a convertible, you can't put back the strut bar that runs to the back of the bumper. I am not sure how important that strut is (the mechanic who fitted it seems to think that it's not that important), but it can't be made to fit with the exhaust. |

Here's a sound clip:
http://s700.photobucket.com/user/jpd...35iPE.mp4.html I didn't get to take one with the remote set to Auto, which is a shame, as that's the best setting - only when you accelerate hard does it get loud. If you are running with the valves closed, it's not too much louder than stock. If you open the valves, it's so loud, it's really quite annoying. With the top down, it's not that bad, but with the top up, it drones quite a bit. I would recommend installing some secondary cats to tone it down a bit. If that's not enough, then add a resonator as well. If I had a coupe and didn't buy the M4, I would say this is the best exhaust you can get. Especially at $1500, you can then add the cats and have a quite exhaust when needed and then loud when you want. Also, keep in mind that my video clip was using catless downpipes and Map 1 on the Procede - so the wastegates were open. |

If all you did was remove that join, why would it need to be re modified for an e92
Can it not be put in place? I'm tempted... How quiet is it when it's on quiet mode? |
