Hey everyone I just recently bought my first BMW couple weeks ago; 2006 330xi
The previous owner installed HID headlights and I would like to get LED fog lights that would closely match with the head lights.
I've been looking online and have found some lights that are 30 Watts. The stock bulbs I have now are 55 watts. I know that it is recommend to not go above 55 Watts for replacement but I was wondering if I could get away with using 30 or 40 watt bulbs or would that cause problems?

Thank you so much

It would throw a bulb-check code unless you have canceller (which are available but sometimes hit or miss). The bulb check could also be simply coded out with no fear of harming the system.

LED's don't draw nearly as much power as HID or Halogen.

That being said, I recommend you checkout the vendor section. Although there are plenty of LED options scattered around the internet, many are more show then go. What I mean is, although they produce light when looking at them, they don't put much down on the road. Consider a high quality option that produces some output and actually has the LED's facing in the correct orientation and positioning for maximum output to reflect on the housing; in doing this it will also result in less glare to oncoming drivers.
