MGP Caliper Covers - Question
Hi Guys,
I know not many people are a fan of the MGP Caliper Covers, so please kindly keep your opinions to yourself. I'm from the UK and i'm struggling to find a set that will fit my vehicle, does anyone know where to get a set that will fit a UK 2011 LCI 325d Msport E92? Is the US fitment any different than the UK fitment? My issue is that the US don't have the 325d model, so none of the websites have an option for the 325d, only the 328i. I don't want to order a 328i set from the US and them find out they don't fit when they arrive! If you've got a set fitted to your car please chime in on where you bought them from. My reason for trying to get them is because i've just a had a fresh set of wheels, centre caps, dustcaps and spacers fitted, and the rusty calipers are bringing down the overall appearance of the car. I don't need Brembo performance so no need for me to spend silly money on something I can cover up with the MGP's for £150-£200, I'm aware this is purely for aesthetics and has no real benefit other than maybe shifting a bit of brake dust. Thanks in advance everyone!

Is ti not worth giving the calipers a scrub with a wire brush and a bit of paint mate? Much cheaper than caliper covers?

I would suggest that you look up the caliper part numbers on realoem for a 328 & a 325

Do the 335i brake upgrade or as mentioned above, clean the calipers with a wire brush and a nice coat of caliper paint. They will look 10x better than covers.

Yes, the calipers and rotors will swap between the models.

you have went to the effort of spending a ton of cash on carbon parts for your car, looking awesome, and you want to go and stick this cheap shit on there?
it will look a billion times better with some painted calipers than with plastic tat on there. if you don't get your hands dirty, you could pay someone to paint them. usually alloy refurbishing companies will do caliper painting. |

MGP Caliper Covers are made of aerospace grade aluminum which is a lightweight material that absorbs a portion of the heat from the brake calipers and allows them to stay cooler even during hard braking. They also protect brake calipers from dust and redirects it to the backside of the wheel which in turn reduces the amount of dust on the front of the wheel. Not to mention they look a thousand times cleaner than the ugly/dirty/rusty stock calipers on a 325d (we don't get the bigger brakes & calipers that 335's have) +, even if i were to paint my stocks, the quality of powder-coat on my rough and rusty calipers would never match the quality of paint/aesthetics on the MGP's. They are extremely easy to install, come in multiple colors, offer multiple engravings, can be fully customized and even come with a 3-year warranty. Whether you like the look of these specific caliper covers or not, your points are incorrect.

As an update, I found the part numbers I required for an E92 LCI and have ordered the Covers in red with Black Bolts. Will update when they arrive and when they are on the car.
I've just had my 313m wheels refurbed, acid stripped & powdercoated in a Flaky Shadow Charcoal, had new BMW Centre Caps installed, new dust-caps, and will be getting some modest spacers and some fresh wheel nuts added at the same time as the covers.

Would you not feel totally embarrassed and a complete bell end with them on? I know I would. They also just look fake. You can tell with the all them bolts around the edge.
You can pick up a set of 370mm 4 pot m sport calipers for the front for between 300-500quid and Zimmerman discs and pads for a few hundred. Would look great and perform great, then just get the rears painted. Last edited by Smokey33; 12-31-2018 at 11:05 AM.. |
