That should be fine, the connection is the same.
I found it comical that the Disa cables are plugged into blanks on the x28i

I do as well. They must have decided pretty late to not use the 3-IM with that motor and tune it for more power instead to save a few dollars.

Since we are on the topic of BUILDING a DISA. May as well build the best DISA

the 2011 n52 used on some rare x3, f10 525/530i, f01 730i models is different. ( 240hp-260hp only with DISA :S whyy)

It has a HEAT SINK, yes like a CPU on cylynder bank 2 and 4.
I think this helps since the air is always directed with DISA directly into those inlets as per DISA diagram

The heat sink requires a new Ugly all engine engine cover( Or u can keep it exposed and ugly), 2 gaskets.
Extra cost is probably 300 for the sink & gaskets

For more please look into above link and my thread/posts from august. I made just a single post.

Yes I did. Didn't gain anything. I noticed they didn't touch the AFR on the tune and power wasn't any different.

i though maybe the tune was not flashed properly into the ecu so I flashed it a few more times (as per the recommendation). In the end, it didn't work out for me unfortunately.

I hope the tune they are talking about doesn't have the issue I had. They are a great company and I was excited to see what they were able to do. Guess it wasn't time yet.

Thanks for the heads up. Strange that a stage 2 didn't do much. Im considering them for the same reasons you stated, reputation etc.

Well this was early last year. So maybe things have changed. The price is a bit steep though. Dunno about the gains here for NA cars.

Yep.
But, I doubt it is worth the trouble if you can source a complete manifold for under 500 shipped

I wonder if this is compatible with the N51 and what/if any difference it would make

I just found some manifolds actually. Found just the intake manifold for 275 shipped to my door from a 2008 330.

It's just the manifold so still not complete. Would still need to order the adjustment values and some screws.

Not sure if I should go for it. In the end all the parts would add up to around 800

Shop around a shell should not cost alot.
And spend a few min pricing out the 2011 version too, since you may be buying adjusters anyway.

Compatible with n51 and n52

Effect= colder air into cylinder 2 and 4. & new engine cover.
I think it is a longevity modification they did, perhaps the manifold can warp over time & years of use.

For anyone who can answer this question : so when I search for the adjuster units ( and by that i mean searching the serial number provided in the manifold swap thread ) it comes up with a couple different ones. Will ANY of those work?

Teeg, given you're in Cali are you sure you don't have the N51 engine? In which case you already have a (de-tuned) 3 stage intake manifold. For the longest time I thought I had N52 until I found out otherwise

Just trying to save you some hassle

Type your last 7 VIN number here and it will tell you everything.

Easiest is to see if there are SULEV stickers under the hood. Also, shine your flashlight under the intake manifold and there should be a serial number that should say something like N51B30 or so

I will check after my class lets out. So lets say I do have an n51? Does that mean my 328 is faster than others? I'm a little lost here

No, it just means you have a 3-IM for your BMW. No need to purchase another.

But if I already have the 3 stage intake manifold in my 328 what makes it just as fast as ones that don't have because this part is supposed to make it faster?

Not sure it that makes much sense haha

I think they're saying you just have to get tuned because you have a 3stage manifold already.

Like when looking for a tune, look for 330, not 328?

correct me if i'm wrong
