BMW free wheel/tire change under warranty??

Hey guys...I have my new wheels...new tires about to be ordered. I have been told by a couple of people that BMW will mount/ballance/align wheels for free if you are still under factory warranty. Of course it sounds too good to be true(and when it sounds like that....it probably is!) But I thought I would reach out to my bretheren(sp?)

Can anyone confirm or deny this please!...many thanks
(a link is fine too...I tried to search for the info first but no luck)

Aligning is not really necessary when you change wheels.

But if you haven't had an alignment in a while it's worth doing, imo.

BMW Service finally called me back after I went online and requested a call back...with a message saying it seems like they don't want my business.

Not only do they charge for mount/ballance(which was expected)...they won't even do my setup because the style rim and tire were never offered with my year/model....even though there is an 18" wheel for that year. He said even if I had the correct wheels, they wouldn't mount anything EXCEPT RFT's! I never thought that would be a no-go.

Either way....I wasn't going to pay them if they didn't do it free(or at least comparable to other shops price) and I'm getting my new setup installed Friday....woohoo

note: It sure is nice being able to spend money on upgrades/mods....instead of just shelling out cash to keep the car running...which was how it became with my E30
