Defective DEPO smoked blacklines... Anyone else have this problem?

I purchased these DEPO smoked blacklines around May 25, 2010. I installed them a short time later without incident. I was satisfied with them at first - they looked perfect. Soon thereafter, I noticed that the "blacklines" on the outer right and left lights had come loose from the interior housing and were slanted downwards. It simply looks awful. Here are pics:

I am certain that I did nothing to cause this to happen other than drive the car normally. I contacted the seller and sent him the above pics. He responded as follows:

"We have 30-day warranty on these tail lights, your purchase was made in late May (5/25) and we are beyond the 30-day warranty period when you started to contact us about the issue. We have been selling these tail lights for a while and I have not seen this before plus I don't see any exterior damage to cause the inner housing to break. I am proposing to get you a brand new set of replacement tail lights at half of your original purchase price of $152.97 which is $76.48."

When he says "I don't see any exterior damage" doesn't that suggest that the product was defective AS SOLD??? I am kicking myself for not just buying OEM. Has anyone else had a similar problem with these DEPOs? What should I do?

wow thats pretty bad, looks like it may be heat related. Unfortunately, if the contract terms are for a 30 day warranty you may be out of luck. Does your credit card extend the warranty for purchases? The best you can do is to ask for a replacement and point to the fact that you have made a posting describing your experience with this seller and product.

i went onto DEPO's website (www.maxzone.com) and found this:

Q. Do you offer a warranty and what should I do if I purchased a defective lamp?

We offer 1 year warranty on all of our products. If you encounter a problem with any of our products, we ask that consumers contact the vendor from which they purchased the product. The vendor will be in return to contact us for the replacement.

turns out there is actually a 1 year warranty

Bump for some BS. I saw these in person. Its ridiculous how quickly the adhesive quit. I know we have had a hot summer but they shouldnt use adhesive that wont withstand 100+ degree weather. Anyone else had this problem?

Eeeesh, sucks man. Let's hope for a quick resolution here. The 1-year warranty statement looks promising!

I got them off ebay. The vendor is SPEEDSTERSOURCE.COM It seems like their ebay store is called KT Campus, Inc. They appeared to sell a lot of auto accessories and had a pretty good rating when I decided to purchase.

I have a similar issue with one of my DEPO tail lights, but not near as bad. I can only see it if I get close. I tried contacting DEPO as well to no avail.

update: I told the vendor that his "1/2 off" offer is unacceptable. Not surprisingly, I haven't heard back yet. I am hoping that DEPO will stand behind its 1 year warranty.
