Could also put e85 in the tank!

Putting the stock airbox in will definitely help out to those anal visual inspectors.
Ya for sure. I'm currently 100% stock mechanically. I'm looking in to kittyless Dp's because I know less heat will really help the longevity of the turbos.

My emissions test just snuck up on me...I need to get the dpfix and find a good shop in the Bay area that I doesn't do the sniffer test. Has there been any new fixes to passing emissions since this thread kinda died out? You would think that we would be able to flash the ECU to always set the o2 sensors to ready...no?

I just went with my gf to smog her car in SF and they only did a visual and OBD2 check. The tech said no need to do sniffer test on year 2000 or newer models anymore. Some smog centers are finally doing no sniffer test!

Is she modded at all though? Im thinking I would pass visuals, unless they're going to try and get me for the bms dci.

any updates on this issue? I'm planning to purchase a e90 335i with VRSF downpipes, but he has the dpfix, will this pass the new CA smog (without sniff test)?

thanks!

Think I'm going to need a smog check soon. So right now, I have AR catless downpipes and Cobb Stage II tune. Planning on getting the DP fix. Has anyone tried to pass smog with only a Cobb Stage II tune? I know it clears the dash engine light, but it will show up during the OBII test right? Also, driving the car for 30min+ will help improve my chances of passing?

I did one smog check test few years ago with only a Cobb Stage I tune and passed, not sure if they did a visual check on the cats. They did a visual check on the engine bay though.

FYI,

I've seen two rolling smog checkpoints in San Diego, on Washington street by my house. Making me nervous! I was going by the opposite direction, but I saw them hooking up sniffers on cars. It looked like they were mostly pulling in the older looking cars but still a little nerve racking!

I am catless, and no DP fix. But I do run 100% E85.

You can get any downpipe you want. I offer a downpipe fix for those of you who have catless downpipes. Here is the link https://www.e90post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=1253637

you ever hear anything? If so pass the contact along? I'm about 5 months late and they set up a smog checkpoint three blocks away last weekend.

Nope, never got anything on it. Ended up buying a set of cats and installing them for the smog check.
