Thats essentially my question - or does it fit auto parts store bottles. Id call it a $10 experiment.

Picked up the filler hose from Mercedes-Benz dealer this morning. I can confirm it screws perfectly onto the fittings under the bumper panel. Has about a 2 1/2 foot long hose that connects to the two and half gallon bottles. Next stop: auto part store.

I used the 1/2 gallon bottle that twists and pushes into the active tank port. Can I cut the bottom out of it and pour DEF from a bigger jug into it next time, instead of continuously buying these 1/2 gallon bottles?

been doing this fine. But getting the Mercedes hose seems way cleaner, getting that next.

note- the fluid has an expiration date, so don't keep too much on hand.

Okay, so at least brand "blue DEf'
Does not fit the Screwtop. The top of the bottle fitting is too small.

Which brand was this? the MB hose fits a LARGE cap, slightly larger than the standard gallon/2.5 gallon jug cap.

Supposedly Part Number 004989042011 will mate with the MB filler hose. Blue Sky DEF

I'm sure there's got to be at least one aftermarket supplier who has done this as well.

Edit: the brand I bought BlueDEF has pictures of a very similar bottle with a different cap that looks like it should fit:
http://www.amazon.com/BlueDEF-DEF002.../dp/B004O80QP8 For some reason mine has a smaller black cap.

Just sent an email to Peak, (manuf. for BlueDEF)

Re: Cap size for 2.5gal BlueDEF

I just bought a 2.5gal Blue DEF with a BLUE cap that does not fit my hose adapter for my vehicle (Kruse adapter) -

See:

However, i see pictures of the very same product (Peak BlueDEF with a WHITE cap that looks larger like it should fit.

Have the bottles changed to mate with Euro OEM filler hoses?

Are you sure?

That second picture that you have with the white cap is actually a mock up
design that never went into production, only the 2.5 gallon containers with
the blue cap are what is available. We must have sent that picture to
WalMart right about the time we got into the DEF business before we started
mass producing the product. We don't make a container or an adapter with
the Kruse fitting either.

If you vehicle has a Kruse adapter, what I would recommend doing is getting
a 1.89 Liter/.5 gallon container with the Kruse adapter on it, emptying it
out, then cut the bottom of the bottle off and use it as a funnel for the
fluid you use after that point. I've had several people tell me that they
are doing that so they don't have to continuously buy the fluid from the
dealer.

Hope that helps.

Despite the response from peak I am 100%. May not have been a bottle from peak though. Or that response from peak might be complete BS.

yes i had this, the cap is too small. I finished this just using the smaller bottles as a funnel. I'll get the mercedes jug part # 004989042011 and you can simply pour cheaper DEF into this once empty. (fyi vw/audi jug won't fit either)

Let us know how much the MB dealer charges for DEF, though I dont expect it will be much less than BMW.
