CAN code 474C

I got a limp today from running too hard too soon (JBD at 100%). After clearing codes, I still have one--474C. I can't clear it, but I don't know what it means. There aren't any OBD codes stored, which I've verified with my Actron.

My "No start in XXX miles" warning is up, is that what this code means? I suppose I could re-check after adding some AdBlue, but I didn't know if maybe somebody had run into this before.

As far as I know all DTC codes (Global and OEM) are 4 characters long not including the prefix i.e. P or U. You have a five character code listed here. Check the code again and verify it. Also What type of actron scanner do you have. Most of these are not reliable when scanning for an OEM code. You'll need something with OEM capability like a dealer or a good independent shop has. Just so you know I looked all though my manufacturer specific codes and found nothing over 4 characters long or with any combinations I could assume you meant to type. Sometimes when a scanner has an unknown OEM code it will display it with an incorrect Code ID.

Sorry I guess the changes didn't save when I edited the post. It's 474C. That code I get from the CAN tool that came with the JBD. It uses the speedo as a display, so cycles through 4-7-4-12, with the 12 representing C. I only plugged in the Actron to verify my suspicion that it was NOT an OBD code.

474C should be for the Exhaust Fluid warning "No Start XXX".
Add some Urea, and it will clear itself.

Awesome, that's what I was hoping. I'm going to add a half gallon next week when it gets down to the 2-300mi range. Currently just under 600, with 1600 till my next oil change. Already added a gallon last month, hopefully this'll be enough to get me to the dealer refill.

I'll report back to confirm that it goes away when the indicator's gone.

Hey guys, I forgot to report back last week. When I added 1.5 gallons of DEF and drove around until the "no start" cleared, this code went away also.
