I replaced my 11 335d m-sport with a 12 X5 35d due to a growing family. The X5 is way more comfortable, (comfort seats and room) and it handles like a car. The only thing it lacks is power compared to the 335d because of its weight. But I gave it to the wife to replace her Honda Accord V6.

I ended up getting a V10 TDI VW Touareg with ECU Tune (no DPF's!) Beast is a monster! It's rare, different and fun. Sportier then a 335d, no. It's pretty decent in sport mode due to its full air suspension and dampening control. I can also put it in comfort mode and it eats up potholes like your driving on a cloud. Overall a great compromise for me. I do miss my 335d though, but it's in great hands with a friend.

I am the first owner of my 335d and it is my daily driver, love it. Weekend car is my F430 and next year 488. If I had to replace my 335d I would replace it with a porsche cayman S, though in the winter I still continue to use my 1995 Nissan Maxima which I purchased when I was in high school.

Wanted an e90 wagon but got the 335d for fuel economy instead. So probably some form of a wagon (tsx, a4, e90)

My other car is an SR swapped 240sx. It's quite sad when the daily driven car is more powerful than the track car.

Andrew asked the question with a $25,000 budget in mind. Some of the answers were more along the lines of specific forum member's pocket depth 😟(Porsches and MB AMG)

Ahh that's right. How about a gently used 535d? You might be able to find an M3 with about 40k miles on it for $25k.

2015 Mustang Gt with Hellion Twin Turbo kit.

That should put you around 30k all together and a 10 sec 950hp daily driver. $$$ per hp it just doesn't get better than this, depends what you want... Older 5.0 models are much cheaper.

The older V10 M5 idea isn't bad either!!

Be prepared to spend a lot of $$$ in repairs and maint. on the V10 M5. Think vano$ & valve $eal$....

Now that I'm looking at their prices this might be a fun little build. Has anyone performed abc yet?
