too much engine oil

I bought a 5L and 1L oil to do an oil change for my E90 320D and it all ended up in the engine. I think it's 5.5L for that engine. It's just above the max. on the dipstick. Am I risking to damage the engine if I don't drain it?

Yes I would definitely bring it down. Too much oil can cause "foaming" thus decreasing lubricant properties. A little over is fine, too much is bad.

Be careful on this Forum. Most of the info you find is for the US spec 335d not euro 320d.

I over filled a little once and used my mitey vac to suck a little out. This is a device for sucking brake fluid through the caliper bleed valve to bleed air out of system or doing system flush.

Where did you suck it out from?

A wee bit above max on the dipstick is nothing to worry about.

I have been a bit confused regarding this. So this section is just for the 335D? I thought it was for all m57 engines plus 335D. I assumed 335D had a different engine or something. Also there is another section just above this one that says 320D but it says non-turbo. Does the american 320D not have a turbo?

They do differ. For example our USA spec almost takes 8L for an oil change. We currently have a 328d but no 320d, and the 335d was discontinued in 2011 because it was too badass.
