Water pump refresh kit

I went into limp mode this weekend and it looks like from the codes I need to replace the water pump and thermostat or both. I was looking at this kit from ECS but do I need to replace or get any other parts while I am in there and do I need all the parts in the kit?

Dude, what the heck, we were just talking water pumps the other day.

Get the kit from FCP, for the warranty. And make sure you get the U hose that goes from the wp -> thermostat.

Ahh good idea going with FCP.
Should I get an expansion tank since I am already draining the coolant?

I would replace every piece of the cooling system you can afford.

For sure the connection hose, wp and thermostat. Anything else is your choice.

Hell, lets put a CSF radiator in it too

I have read nothing but bad things about the CSF and leaking.

Do they make an upgraded Water Pump? Seems 66K is way to short of life for a WP.

Thats about standard shelf life especially if it was original to the car. 60-90k seems the norm.

I was unaware the CSFs had leaking issues. Thats in my plans for after essentials are taken care of. Ill look into that.

I know there is a Mishimoto option also. Neither of which are particularly required but cooling mods are always a plus imo.

Cool, thanks Drew.
If I can find the threads about the CSF I will try and link them.

Which CSFs radiator are leaking. Are you talking about the upgraded radiator or their standard? I have the upgraded and have not notice leaking. Been on for at least two years now. Maybe I need to take a closer look

I don't remember which one but one one of the forums I have read that there a lot of issues with the CSF not lasting.
That does not mean they will all fail. I'm not even sure which forum I was on.

A little late to the party but i didn't think a 2ded code was the sign of a waterpump issue. Were there waterpump codes that you cleared and aren't showing?

I did clear the codes before taking this screen shot.
I replaced the Water pump and thermostat anyway and it seems to be fine now but I have not drove any long distances.

In my experience, the only time i've had 2DED show up is when I leave my obd cable plugged in the port when the car is off for extended periods of time or a few key cycles.
