Hey guys, so I'm too broke right now to buy a BMW PE, although I am trying to save up for one
Hopefully one day, I'll have enough money for it, but I wanted a better sound from my car and came across the option of deleting my muffler as well as my resonator. Anyone have any suggestions on whether to go for both, or just one? Also, other than a set of pipes and some tips, there is no other mod required, right?
Finally, does anyone know of a good shop, or can help me find a good shop where I can get this done for (without being charged out my ass) but still with great quality workmanship? I live in Brampton, but I guess anywhere in the GTA would work. Also, what's the usual estimated time to finish a job like this? And will I be able to use my muffler (if ever) I choose to, on my car?

I got my resonators delete from my 335i and it sounds good. I wouldn't go as far as removing the muffler too unless you really want your car sounding loud. Resonator delete should be sufficient.

I got mine done at the minute muffler at Milvan and Finch, speak to Frank.

Frank? I'll be sure to look for him when I go to mid-end of next week. Any feedback on the job he did? Also, where did you pick up your pipes/exhaust tips from? I'm thinking of either going with 3 1/2" Cherry Bombs or the 2.25" Magnaflow ones... Which ones would look the best? :O

if you are doing resonator delete, you won't need tips.
the shops have necessary pipes. btw, i liked muffler delete on my 128i.

His work was good, he provided the pipes and labour. I still have the stock muffler so no mufflers/tips were necessary.

I've been thinking it over, and I may just go with the resonator delete for now, and maybe add in a muffler delete later, should I decide I need it louder. On that note however, you have a 335, so your car would sound better than mine stock anyways lol, so to achieve the sound I want, I may need the muffler delete as well. How much should just the resonator delete run me up? And how long does it take?

I've heard that the muffler delete is reversible so long as the cuts in the pipes are clean, they can be welded back but now sure about the resonator.

I will just go for muffler delete, save tons of weight and you can put them back on later.
muffler delete only cost me $75 back then. w/o tips
I had 6spd with 128i, it sound great.... i mean not super loud but loud enough for fun down shifting.
obviously there is drone but didn't really bother me.

Any update on which route you took...interested in hearing a sound clip of the exhaust with the resonator off.

I'm thinking about doing the same thing to get a bit louder than stock sound but wanted to see how much drone there is in the cabin of the car.

The drone in the cabin is the only thing holding me back right now. Just bought a set of winters so holding off on the res/muffler delete until next week. I will keep you updated with the results!
