You might even need a new rim!
I'm not sure but seems it is going to cost a lot to repair (given if and only if the shop can repair that kind of damage), might better off getting a new rim.

Also check the tires, see if there's any internal damage.

What happened???

Carlos, what the hell did you do to create that mess. I am no expert but that looks like a new alloy to me buddy! Get your credit card out and call the stealer!

New rim required.

Even if it could be fixed, I would never trust it - especially at the bananas you may do.

And probably the tyre too, for piece of mind. The RFTs look firm but hide their damage well (although yours does look damaged at the bead). Also need to check your tracking.

By the looks of the amount of tread left on that tyre carlostallyourrubber, you could probably do with checking the depth on the other 3 as well (specially now winter is upon us).

OOooooh.... yup, that's a new rim. What on earth did you do?
You might be ok with the tire, although with the lack of tread on that I think you'll need new ones anyway!

If you look cloesly you can see he has ripped the bead, torn to the wire. I wouldn't touch that tyre again ...

A klonk that hard will also have effected the geometry.

Didn't notice the beading - yes you're quite right. New tyres for the front then. And Carlos will need a full KDS as well, as the geometry is going to be completely out. Might need to get the lower wishbone bush checked out as well, as that is prone to damage from angled impacts to the wheel (as I've found out previously)

Looks like it's been ripped apart by something seriously unforgiving.

Edit...Pothole? More like a fooking crater!! Did a meteorite land on the road?! Nasty mate.

Oh incidentally I forgot to say that I bought a replacement wheel, 230 style, for £290 + VAT from Sytners.

And try Elite Direct (www.elitedirect.co.uk) for the tyre - it'll be a lot cheaper than BMW. A KDS will be in the region of £250 + VAT

That seems steep, probably the difference in labour rates down south. I paid about £100 when I was home last time (Irvine) for a full KDS.

Mind you, the muppets haven't quite lined it up, will be doing that myself at the weekend.
