So yesterday I was inspecting the car and I saw a little oil coming from the top of the engine. I removed the engine cover and then discover that i have to points of leaks: 1) Seal under the oil filler cap. 2) Arround the eccentric shaft sensor connector.

My question is related to #2, I read that I will have to replace the valve cover gasket and aluminium bolts to get to replace the eccentric sensor gasket, Do I have to replace the sensor too? I don't have any other symptom or Check engine light.

i just replaced this. the leak looked bad but once i replaced the gasket and cleaned the spark plug area, the leak never came back. no you don't have to remove the valve cover, at least on the n55.

Thanks for the answer. I forgot to mention that mine is n52 330i 2006
