Updated Angel Eyes Thread

Hey guys, I have a Navy Blue 2011 (LCI) 335i xDrive E90. I was recently looking and planning for the summer mods I will be doing on my car and one of these happen to be Angel Eyes upgrade.

I read a lot about angel eyes and brands but I noticed that most of the threads are a few years old.

So I just want to have a new/fresh opinion on which Angel Eyes I should get for my car.

I was mostly looking at LUX H8 V5, LUX H8 180 and MTEC V4. I am open to any suggestion and would love to hear them!

I also don't know if it's worth to change the angel rings themselves for different shaped ones. I feel it would take away from the authenticity of the E90.

Thanks yall.

You already found the relevant information if you arrived at Lux H8 180 etc. The technology hasn't changed, just the bulbs have gotten marginally brighter since.

LUX v5 is only for color change ability. It does work well for what it is.

LUX 180 and HPB 240 are comparable with about the same results. Both will take a little maneuvering to get in but not horrible. HPB has a fan on it that keeps it cool, but also because it seems to get a little hotter - but that nullifies the effect. Fan makes it a little harder to install since you have to keep the area around it clear and you can't push on that part obviously. But in the end the two are about the same. Neither will magically make your outside corona light up much better - in fact in some ways it just pronounces how poor the fiber optics work. Those are honestly your best options.

For the record I own all of these bulbs.

Thanks a lot for perfect feedback. I guess I will simply get the LUX H8 180. Can't install them yet since I would freeze to death but that is one thing of the list. Should I consider doing something for the fog lights in your opinion or it's not worth it?

Perfect, good to know that not much changed in this market!

If you're getting replacement bulbs for the corona's it's probably for cosmetic reasons. As such, I would think that along those lines, you should also replace fogs if for no reason other than to match or be similar in color to your corona's new look.

HPB makes excellent fogs that can be purchased with dongles that prevent bulb errors. That said, with a simple code out, it doesn't matter what brand; just buy a reputable one so it doesn't die on you in a few months.

You're right I think it would be a bit weird if my fog lights were still to look OEM. If I remember a quick search I did, the fog lights are H8 35W if I am not mistaken.

Since I set my mind on the LUX H8 180 which are 7000k, I should probably check around these specs for the fog light or it doesn't work/match that way?

I know that with LED fogs, I should get load resistors in order to prevent any code appearing.

Shipping wise I read it's 35$ for Canada. How much time approximatively?

Other than that the product looks very solid just from the component and specs description. Looking forward to getting it.

Tons of options since the Corona and the Fog lights are actually the same type of bulb. Load resistance aside, you could put HIDs in the fogs, or you can just put another pair of LEDs. Or if you've got indecision issues, buy the LUX and HPB and then put the one you like less in the fogs.

Right. Fitment wise I can't really go wrong with the Angel Eye bulbs. For the fog light I am uncertain. I have a standard bumper so I am pretty sure 9006 soze is for M-Sport bumper. I don't know if it's H11 or H8 and I haven't have the time to check on my car. You havr a 328 2011 LCI. Do ylu remember what size/fitment yoh put?

The LCI is an H8, just like the headlight angel eyes. Pre-LCI is different.

Since you are looking for suggestion, HPB 240W H8 is another option you may want to put on your list.

Oops, a bit too late I already ordered the LUX, but I was looking into the HPB fog lights. I have heard that they are pretty good products and for a good price.

If I want to order from you I guess you need to make me a special invoice for shipment to Canada?
