My Illtech Experience

Hey all,

I recently contacted Illtech in Bellevue to get a quote on doing HID fog for my e92 335i. After a few exchanges of email to get more information for my vehicle, I heard nothing back from the shop. I sent over a follow-up email last week, nothing back.

Are they still around? Anyone else on here had worked done on their vehicle?

Thanks.

i had a pretty bad experience with illtech. i went to illtech to install a backup camera for my gtr. i told them to get it from a vendor on nagtroc.com. later found out they charged me an extra $150, when i asked illtech, they said the vendor no longer offered the "special" price. i called the vendor they've been selling it for the same price since day 1.

then i was told the install would only take couple hours, dropped off the car at 10am, i didnt get it back till 6:30pm. when i walked in to pick up my car, i was told a cable from the camera kit didnt work and they had to get one from bestbuy for $25, and they wanted to charge me another hour of labor in additional to what was previously quoted.

they ended up not charging me for the additional one hour. the amount they charged for a backup camera install, i expected alot more.

overall...

customer service = great
communication = poor
business ethic = beyond poor

Thank you for all your inputs guys. I'm glad I check with you all first. I will not be taking my car there.

Any recommendations on other shops?

Take it to Joel at CNC instead. HID fog is very easy to install.

+1

Took me about an hour to install my kit from highperformancebulbs.com. I chose the 4300k kit.

We are working to resolve the issues relayed in this thread. We had to remove our general manager due to ongoing issues ie. overcharging, overquoting, and bad communication. We are very sorry for the oversight of quoting you out for the foglights. We would be willing to come to you at your convenience and help to install the foglights. This service would be at no charge to you. Please let us know if you are still interested.

The people that have issues with our shop all have emails asking them to stop by and chat in person over coffee or whatever. We are trying to fix this..
