Would this kit make the pull even stronger after 4k rpms? Also, does it kick in after a certain throttle input?

Does anyone know if this can be used without a JBD.
I have a MegaSpeed Tune (with DPF Delete) and was considering this but not a JBD. Does anyone know the specifics of what the kind of signal the JBD drives with it? Could it be adapted to work with a tach wire / injector pulse? |

@ MonkUSMC I beleive the JBD does not produce more for the car over 4k. Lenny @ RENNtech was able to do it in the flash and i got 307 whp

Terry is the only one that's done dyno results on my car, and honestly, I think they're inconclusive. No torque #'s, and the increase wasn't much over the JBD initially, and he wasn't able to run the JBD at 100% when he ran the tests (I think the car needed to acclimate to the changes he made). I've run the JBD at 100% since I got it back from him, and I've adjusted the mixture from 50/50 (he was using Juice Boost, whereas I'm now using an M1 + Distilled Water mixture around 75/25 to 80/20). The car pulls hard in every gear, and 6th is freaking insane. I've got a bit of time on my hands, so I'm going to see if I can rustle up a local dyno that can pull torque #'s, too, to see what the car is doing now. @ 85,000 miles, it's well broken in and should show some pretty decent gains.
I'm not sure how Terry has it coded atm, tbh. I can tell you that I went through almost 2 gallons of meth on Palomar here yesterday, and I topped off before I left the house.

IMO, after the wagner ic and free flow exhaust, i don't feel the need for a wmi kit. With 442hp and 625tq the engine is runing at lower temps than stock.

my other consideration is whether to stay JBD+meth or go RennTech+meth...or just extend the warranty b/c im not loving the reliability threads. Thanks for chiming in! Tiago, youre running 442hp to the wheels w/out meth? when you say "free flow exhaust" are you talking sans DPF? if so, is youre car US Spec or Euro Spec? Who did the tune? Thanks!

Palomar Mountain here is a very demanding run, and it didn't really surprise me that with as much as I was pushing the car that I ran down almost the full 2 gallons.
Even with the JBD, you will see a marked difference in how the car pulls. It was night and day for me, much like when the JBD is off the car vs. on.

In Europe we compare with the manufacturer numbers for a fair and quick comparo. The manufacturers show only crank numbers. You can compare crank numbers between awd and fwd/rwd, but not between whp.

Because the JBD required some recoding in order for the meth kit to work with it, I don't think swapping out tunes is possible now, so the JBD is now on full time.

Not sure of anyone else, but that answer doesn't work for me.

but a few questions do come to mind...
Quote:
- I believe that in Europe the more common measurement is also PS (which directly translated means "horsepower" but is only roughly equivalant. Are we talking 442PS (435hp) or 442hp? - From what i can gather, the Maha LPS3000 seems to measure power at the wheels, then project out engine power (in accordance with the standards of most of the regulators of that industry) but it does not actually measure hp at the flywheel. Is this correct? Assuming that we are talking hp, and we are dealing with an actual engine power number, 442chp would likely work out to something to the effect of 375whp using BMWs constantly touted "15% drivetrain loss". Now if we use a more standard 20% rule of thumb, this would work out to 353whp. I don't know Tiago from Adam, but it seems to me that the euro d's MAY be able to accomplish 350-370wHP on the right dyno with the right conditions, thus it would not be completely out of the question. I say this because I constantly see Euro cars touting 340+wHP, and because dynonometers are only as good as their calibration. With that said, lets see that Dyno graph, T! |

I see that the wHP in it (for those not looking to follow the link) is 353 , engine power=436 and corrected power=442. All of which seems perfectly believable to me (as evidenced); it does however, further my healthy level of jealousy of the eurospec diesels and the tuning support thereof. Btw, if we carry the roughly .1998 drivetrain loss to the torque number & convert to lb/ft, it works out to 500lb/ft at the wheels T, care to enlighten us (me) on the HP Turbo set-up you're running? BTW, i think this was tony teams original question anyway. he seemed to be asking if you were on aftermarket turbos and stock injectors...And, yes, I know we're getting off topic from meth. We'll bring it full circle when Ron1n gets us some dynos *fingers crossed* to compare the jbd+meth@100% (circa $800) to Tiagos turbos, exhaust, & retune (I'm guessing circa $3k)

The graph was already in the vid. Yes, the car has modified turbos and stock injection. Both turbos and injection has more room to play but my goal was to break 440hp for a beat and i won it. I also think that it is enough for a DD. For more i have more two car +600hp each (a rwd and a awd) to rip the streets and tracks.
All the info about the parts is in the vid. You all must see it with open mind without thinking bad things from the start. Only then you will collect all the info.
