Today while on my commute home I noticed how much I enjoy having the Logic 7 premium sound. (I have realized this before but just posting about it now). I am just curious to see how many of you like or dislike the logic 7 premium sound. In my opinion it is far superior to most manufacturers premium sound systems. My friend drives a 2011 S4 with the Bang&Olufsen premium sound and I think BMW premium sound is much better. I get into friends cars and I am usually very disappointed withe the sound system but never in my car. I am very happy with my stock sound system and have no plans to upgrade. Just curious to see what you guys think/ your opinions about it.

What do you guys think of your Logic 7?
Any cars that have better stock sound systems?
What type of music do you feel shows the performance of the system the best?
Would you buy a car without premium sound after having it
Any other comments or opinions?

Honestly, I set the Logic 7 to how the person on this forum said to, and I think it sounds excellent. Our other two cars have Bose systems and I think they sound like junk. Is it the best? Nah. Is it above average? Yah. Maybe someday I'll get into putting in a customized system, but there's no bang for buck in it. You only have two ears.

I think it's a solid system* - you wouldn't be able to get as good of a system aftermarket for the same amount of money as the option costs. It's a versatile platform too if you're not satisfied with its sound, adding subwoofers and so on. The quality of the components is top notch.
What the Logic7 system does for the sound stage is impressive - I'm a stereo type of guy and this is the first system I've had where I embraced any sort of surround sound stuff. So yeah I'm pretty happy with it. I have yet to hear a better factory system - especially for the option cost.

*assuming you change it from factory default settings, otherwise it sounds rather poor. Logic7 settings

I ride in a car with it, and I thought it was really amazing. Sounds like a movie theatre compared to normal sound systems

I think the logic 7 sound great, especially when playing music through the USB drive. Satellite doesn't sound as great but not bad. I don't see why anyone would want to upgrade unless they want obnoxiously loud bass. I have a hunch that the $5900 15 speaker system in the upper level Audi's might be a tad better though lol.

The Logic7 is not a stock sound system on the 3 series, it is a separate package just like how Toyota's have JBL as an separate add-on.

The Logic7 system definitely sounds A LOT better in comparison to other cars and most other premium sound options. IMO, the midrange sounds awesome on the Logic7 and vocals are represented realistically assuming you have a high quality music file. Although I would say it is a decently powerful system (9-channel, 400watt HK amp) it is still far from the best. You said that your Logic7 sounds better than your friends B&O system? I have been in an A4 and A6 with the B&O system and I can tell you right now that compared to my Logic7 it is night and day, no questions about it. You just cannot compare Harmon Kardon to Bang and Olufson. You would be comparing a BMW to a Ferrari.

Then again, I am extremely happy with my current sound system. Always a pleasant ride with the upgraded speakers makes any commute that much easier

I have a killer system in my other car from aftermarket stuff and I have to say, while it isn't as sharp as that system, Logic 7 aint bad. I'm happy with it. Except the XM, that sucks donkey balls.

It's a very solid system. The mid bass is strong and firm. It's not like having two 12 subs but the surround system is amazing.

All my coworkers including one who has a G37 says it sounds really good.

It's worth the $795 upgrade

I used to be super impressed by the logic 7, but i think I've grown accustomed to it and i actually desire more now. I think i just need deeper bass that the under-seat speakers can't provide.
Every other car i've been in sounds like crap in comparison.

Xm, Sirius == massive compression. Not good for high fidelity. You are better off with iPhone and lossless ripping of your cd's.

However.... Xm and Sirius are great for those long distance trips.

I have 2010 x5 with logic 7 and getting a 2012 335is with hk tomorrow.

I think it sounds fantastic. I love the ability to have the custom equalizer.

With that being said, the standard sound system in my new X3 (not premium sound) is not only more than adequate, it's good. Night and day compared to the H/K or Logic7 sound, but still good overall.

An old e90 we had with standard audio package sounded like crap, so I'm actually quite impressed with the standard on the X3

There's a lot of processing and weird stuff going on in Logic7. Some crazy eq on the center speaker. It sounds better than the majority of cars I've heard and it's a unique experience. Surrounds you with this sound stage. But I find it unnatural... slow and muddy. As far as car audio - I'm pretty happy with it.

I've been around a lot of audiophile stuff so I'm a bit spoiled.

It's one of the main reasons I like driving the car.
Anytime my wife and I are driving, I crank it up, crystal clear...A couple of times as I pulled in the driveway she asked me to go back out and keep driving so she can listen to the music. One night she stayed in the car 5 more minutes to finish listening to her song lol.
Sirius sounds pretty good, except whenever I go under an overpass or surrounded by large trees it cuts out. Which is the reason I am cancelling it this Friday as my term is up on the 7th.
$15 a month isn't worth it. Only useful thing is traffic updates and that even takes time to get up to the minute updated.

I've never tried the harmon/kardon system.. does anyone know if that is better/more expensive?

I'm very satisfied with the L7 H&K system. My wife has the B&O in her Audi and she admits that the H&K sounds much better. It is interesting that as options when ordering the cars, the B&O cost a little more. Took some time to find the proper settings for the H&K, but thankfully someone posted their results and ever since music has never been the same.

The Logic 7 system is manufactured by Harman Kardon, so its one and the same.
