LDM coding

Hello,

So i'm trying to get Cruise Control working on my e90 for almost 2 months now. I bought a SZL and installed it, but since my car is an 05 i needed an LDM aswell.
Bought a used LDM and, i think, today i succesfully wired it up. I tapped the 12v and ground wire from the cigarette lighter, the wake up wire from the CAS module and the PT CAN High and Low from the DSC (traced the red/redblue wire towards inside the car and tapped it off).

Looking in INPA, UIF, the LDM module now shows up between the other modules.

However, the dash gives me a cruise control warning light:

I FA wrote $544 (cruise control with brake function) to the CAS and FRM module and coded the SZL. But the cruise control is still not working.

The LDM is giving me error codes, and when i clear IM in INPA, it's showing Error ECU service not supported:

Has anyone succesfully retrofitted an LDM in his car and can help me out with this?

Same way you did the FRM and CAS. All you've done so far is stored the new VO in the car. You still need to actually tell the other modules concerned with your alterations that there are changes. You do that by coding those modules.

Tried to do the coding with the help of Andy but it did not work. LDM stays on "Service not supported". Fault codes LDM: D030, DSC: 9520 and KOMBI A3AF and DME CDAC. LDM is being recognized in INPA and NCS expert. When i'm driving and i rngage the cruise control switch, the yellow cruise control error symbol comes up, which does indicate that the fault is not in the SZL aswell.
Anyone?

You have the low Kombi - are you sure it supports dynamic cruise control?

Yes indeed the low kombi. I only want Cruise Control with brake function ($544). I'm aware that the low kombi does not go well with displaying cruise control but stills works (altough maybe not ond the display)

I'm not a super pro but I'm at level that I might understand the problem. I think you are at a point where you just need to essentially default code your module now. Right now it has the right VO but the wrong coding or even no coding maybe.

To do so, make sure your .MAN file is completely empty and write it to the module (SG_CODIEREN). It should then apply the default coding based of the VO since the file is empty.

But like, did this start with wanting to retrofit cruise control or you replaced a broken module that never made your CC work again? I didn't even know these cars had the option to not have it.

Also reading modules with ISTA/INPA might help as well based on the codes you get per module.

Thanks! I'll try that.
I did not have CC in the first place (German import where they don't want/need CC). Tought it would be as simple as installing the SZL and coding but to no avail (needed LDM because it's an pre 07 E90).
The codes on INPA (don't have ISTA) read:
9520 Lenkrad MFL mechanisch defekt Kontakt
D030 Botschaft status Kombi 1b4h

The 9520 code says the SZL is broken, but that would not make sense, since the wiper/turn switch work fine and the CC error displays on the KOMBI when engaging the CC stalk.

Okay so i did the following: Ncs expert- revtors- start- chassis E89- Back- Process ECU- LDM (later FRM and Kombi too)- Codierendaten lessen- execute job- Workfolder- deleted data to 0- Change job to SG codieren- execute job. These modules shouldl now be set to default right?

The exact combination might change based on the profile set up on NCS expert but yeah if you reach the place where you can change jobs for a specific module you are at the right place.

By delete data to 0 you mean you opened the FSW_PSW.MAN text file and removed everything, saved, closed it and then did SG_codieren? If yes it should be default coded yes.

I used to use SDBMW coding but he is no longer around and recommended I use AlpineMSS. So far I like him too. I'd reach out to him and see if he can help.

Thanks, i'm located in Europe. I reached out to a BMW coding guy here in the Netherlands. Very curious where the problem lies and if the retrofit is even possible.
