Auto Zone Pads with Clips
My brake light came on and I need to replace my front pads on my 2011 328i. So I went to autozone and they gave me duralast gold DGC918 pads. And when I removed my old worn pads I notice the out board pads didn't have a clip. Where as the autozone out board pad has a clip. I was wondering if anyone out there came up with the same situation and how did you get around
Thanks

Thanks for getting back. I returned the pads back to Autozone. The new pads didn't set with me. I would expect to have the new pads fit just as the old pads. I work in the truck trucking industry and if any part did not fit form or function as the OEM part it would need to be recalled.

OP, you could have just got the wrong parts. I'm running Autozone's Duralast Gold pads on my car and I don't recall having any issue like that.
EDIT: Besides, how can you argue with a lifetime warranty on brake pads?

I'm running mine with slotted rotors and I haven't had any problems stopping. Granted, my car doesn't see the track, but it has participated in its fair share of backroad shenanigans and seen a few instances of "I-need-to-stop-right-goddamn-now!" Dusting is significantly less than OEM.
I'm not gonna claim they are a high-performance pad, but for DD purposes they are more than adequate - and when I use them up, I just go get anther set.

Personally, I would take them back and get Akebono Euro pads. You will have to order them on-line. Bosch would be my second choice and you're more likely to find them locally. |

the auto zone pads was a jurid 208 FF with a Coefficient of friction rated at .35 at 250 F and .45 at 600 F. I returned them back to auto zone, the clip thing didn't set with me. I did find a set of Akebono Brake Pad Set, With Shims at advance that fit very nicely. The friction rated was a GG, ( .45 at 250F and .55 at 600 F) they are a little grabby, but they will do. As long i got them replaced before the cold weather sets back in.
In the after market world its always a guessing game of what your going to get. Bosh is marketing the pad Jurid is the manufacture.
