How Much For Paint Correction?

Just wondering what a paint correction job from a reputable shop on an F13 might be going for nowadays.

All depends on a few factors. How bad is your paint? How perfect do you want it to be? Are you going to get suckered into getting ceramic, etc.?

Have you thought about doing this yourself?

Paint not bad at all... a few chips on the front bumper and hood. Perfect enough to smooth out the rough spots to prep for PPF. Ceramic will come after the PPF. I did Kamikazi ISM myself when I first bought the car (amazing stuff, by the way!) but I plan to keep this car around for a while, so I'd like to do it right. Just trying to get a sense of how much a decent job will set me back.

prices vary depending on the products and process. here it's 600-1500ish with decent products. 2-4 year protection.

Is the paint correction going to repair the chips? Typically that is not part of paint correction. That’s more paint repair.

This is for a 2013 car? I wouldn't PPF a car that old.

I'll never understand putting a ceramic coating on a car but ESPECIALLY on PPF. What is the point???

My car gets caked in salt in the winter. The ceramic infused in the PPF makes it just wash away effortlessly. I don't even physically touch the paint all winter and it stays relatively clean from grime. I washed my car an hour ago at a hand wash. No abrasive brushes or towels and it's glossy as can be.

I found bugs and stuff stick to the PPF. So ceramic would help w/that.

If you've never used ceramic coating, you may want to try it. I thought it was a bunch of snake oil. Then I tried it on my car and wheels. It's absolutely amazing. I use it on everything!

i live in an area of Oregon where we have two seasons: drought and monsoon. i just traded my 2014 Jag F-Type for a 21 Z and the paint on my Jag looked better than the Z. i ceramic coated it 2x over 5 years. The first time i had it done professionally, the second i coated it myself.

i have no experience with PPF, so i cannot compare them experientially, but the difference between ceramic or factory finish is night and day in my experience, and that comes down to the hydrophobic/sheeting properties for me. The car stays cleaner longer and washes easier. The stuff is nothing short of amazing. i especially love it on my wheels. So much easier to maintain them, and they stay cleaner.

The one comparison i can make with PPF is cost. i suppose one can do PPF their self, not sure though, may have to have professional license to purchase the product? The cost to have a pro do it is several thousand dollars. Doing your own ceramic can be done for under $100, more depending on how much correction you need.... and of course, your time to do it.

Here's a decent vid discussing and comparing them
