E90 Airbag: single & dual stage

I have just bought Z4 E89 Steering Wheel from Europe to replace my original E90 Steering Wheel, but the Airbag doesn't work. My original is dual stage airbag but the Z4 E89 is single stage airbag

Is there any way except buying another dual stage airbag? Can I swap the core?

My original dual stage airbag

Z4 E89 single airbag

Hi there,

Just deactivate stage 2 driver airbag in your MRS ecu, it should do the trick.

I would like to know how to do this. What program do I have to use and what values do I have to edit?

I have disabled fahrerbag_stufe2_1 by changing the value to nicht_aktiv but when I write it to the ecu, I get a passenger restraint malfunction error. I tried using Inpa to clear the error but it is still there. How did you get rid of the error?

To anyone trying to code dual-stage to single stage:

The mistake I made was coding the value before the new airbag was installed. Make sure to code it with no airbag connected to get no error.
To code it, change fahrerbag_stufe2_1 to nicht_aktiv

(Btw sorry for reviving dead thread, I just remembered that I never updated about my issue)
