Weird Noise

Anyone know what this weird noise is under my hood? its sounds like a ticking coming from under the engine cover...did the best I could with a video. the ticking is most prevalent between 4 and 10 seconds. BMW originally told me it was because I had an intake in and that the BMW intake was provided as a sound dampener. I recently took out the intake and put the stock back in an sounds is just the same. It does it when my JB3 is in or out and did it before so it is nothing tune related...

Note: Don't really watch the video...it might make u nauseous its just strictly for the sound

Ticking? Head for the the hills.....

Heh, no i believe what your hearing is normal. i hear that as well in the mornings on cold starts. i don't think i would call it a ticking but it is pretty similar. i see how someone could describe it in that manner. i noticed that a few weeks back. i have been monitoring it every morning and it seems that it does it on cold starts every morning. im thinking its absolutely normal. but i've only had my 335i for about 5-6 months im sure someone on here could clarify as to whether this is really normal n54 operation.

Well that was after I've been driving it for about an hour and a half haha, i can hear it significantly if i'm pulling into my garage and my windows are down...I do get it on cold starts but it never seems to go away that's why I think there is a problem.
