Dinan repair reimbursement

How does Dinan repair cost reimbursement work?

Assuming I have Dinan products under the hood, let's say I go in to a BMW service center and BMW refuses to pay for a repair while under my 4/50 warranty and I get stuck paying out of pocket. Do I then submit the repair bill to Dinan for consideration and Dinan pays me? Or do I have to decline the work and take the car to a Dinan authorized center and have the work & parts done by Dinan? If the latter, that could be quite laborious not to mention a pain in the *ss! I know some Dinan centers are in BMW service centers but for some or while on the road traveling, this might not always be the case.

Anyone been through this and care to share the experience?

This must vary dealer to dealer. The place I go to has no issues with Dinan. Got it in writing - no impact to orig or CPO warranty.

Not sure you understood my question. So let's put it this way, real world scenario...I have a HPFP gone bad() and I go in for a replacement at BMW which is covered under 4/50 and now till 10/120. BMW service discovers I have a Dinan Stg2 flash and says "hey you have voided your warranty and have to pay out of pocket because the car has been modified". At this point, it is my understanding Dinan picks up the full cost of HPFP replacement if BMW will not(4/50). So do you go ahead and have it fixed at BMW with BMW parts and submit a bill to Dinan or do you have to take your car to an authorized Dinan center to have the work done? In my area, I have 3 Dinan authorized centers, 1 is and indy and the other 2 are at BMW dealerships.

You are correct, it depends on the dealership which IMO is bullshit. BMW either covers it or they dont!

My takeaway is Dinan has too much to lose if they do not honor their posted warranty coverage policy found on the website, even if it reads a little vague but with that said...if or when the music ever stops I would hate to be the one without a seat at the "I'm covered" table.

You don't pay out of pocket. You call Dinan.

I would definitely recommend you just call Dinan if the dealer says that won't warranty due to Dinan software and go from there - the process probably varies and I think Dinan would want to make the call on where you get it fixed if they are paying.
