Hey guys, my front brakes are sure making lots of dust, I get tired of having to clean the wheels so often. What do you guys recommend, better pads? if so, which kind? Or would putting cross drilled rotors on help my issue?

Drilled/slotted would more likely increase dust and noise. I'd recommend just doing a proper brake pad change(follow all the steps on Hawk's website). Hawk HPS pads are good.

You can put normal car wax on your wheels too and it may make them a little easier to wipe off. Try not to get too much water all up in your rotor's business when you wash it.

For dust change your pads. Akebono's are supposed to be a good lower dust option. Just do some searching to come up with some other options and choose what looks best to you.

Virtually zero dust with my Akebono Euro Cermanic pads front and rear. They don't have the same intial bite as OEM but you get used to it.

Any truth to the stories of people changing to ceramics and experiencing increased brake squeal?

You cant have best of both worlds...Less dust=more rotor wear / More dust=less rotor wear. I rather change pads then rotors as far as price. Bmw's have always had dust, Its just their thing. Like mentioned waxing wheels keeps them cleaner longer.

Try using simple green clean them completely then clay them and wax them with hard wax, Polish and you should see good improvement. I clean my wheels once week with simple green stuff is amazing.

Not necessarily... there's a difference between "abrasive" and "adhesive" (sometimes called cohesive) pads. Abrasive is exactly what it sounds like and will wear rotors faster. Adhesive pads rely on transfer of pad material onto the rotor during bedding in and will wear rotors more slowly.

Personally I like the feel and performance of the BMW pads but find the amount of dust generated appalling. I can't stop and clean my wheels every hundred miles, that's just not happening... so I switched to Hawk HPS. I haven't driven far enough to evaluate dusting, they're barely bedded in, but I am hopeful that it will be better...

As others have said, the HPS don't have the same initial bite as the stock pads, at least not yet in my case - I can see some transfer but not sure if they are 100% bedded in or not. They will stop well though although there's more pedal travel than stock.

Thanks for the input guys. I still want the crossdrilled/slotted rotors though. ECS tuning has a couple of options. What I don't understand is that they have a 300x24 and a 312x24 set. Why the difference in diameters? Will either/or fit my e90? Here's the link.

Check the year your e90 was made, on the driver side doorjamb. Later cars had larger brake rotors. You wouldn't wan to buy the wrong size for your car.

the 325i and 328i have the 300mm rotors up to around 2008 I think. Then they switched to the 312mm rotors. you should have the 312mm. Most parts places will know when the switch was.

R1 Concepts make some great rotors. I got the premium drilled and slotted and they look amazing. Weight is about the same as OEM (1/2 more at the rear). Combined with HAWK HPS pads make for a very quiet and very low dust combo. I now clean my wheels every other week, instead of every other day. Stopping power isn't nearly as good as OEM, which in my case, running a tune, therefor moving faster, is a slight issue, but I just have to adapt and learn to brake a little earlier.

Anyone can give me some suggestions on which brakes and rotors to buy for a 2006 325i bmw?
Also, where I can get them from?
