How Much to Replace Front Bumper (2011 E90 335i) + Paint + Installation?

I was quoted $1300 for front bumper replacement. This would include the OEM bumper, paint, and installation. They would be using PPG paint, using a full line color system.

Is this a ripoff? Or does it seem like a fair deal? OEM part is 51118049252 for the front bumper.

Nothing unreasonable in that quote. I usually see about $250 for paint on a new bumper. R&R seems about right too. Under 4 hrs is pretty standard.

for OEM part yeah. whats irksome is that he doesn't allow parts to be sent to his body shop. he gets it from his own source which is way higher in price than say getbmwparts.com

For a genuine BMW part, that's what I would guess at a price for a the best full service.

You should know that everything else below this is cheaper. A preprinted new 3rd party bumper cover would be $300 or less delivered to your door and you supply the labor.

Decide if you want to do some work and save a grand.

I doubt the shop pays that much for the cover. They likely get a discount and then upcharge. I understand why they don't allow you to bring parts though, fitment can be questionable on some parts.
