Thumbs up My 320d got the Evolve treatment

Hi guy, I’ve been on here a while but not posted until now.

I finally took the plunge this week and had an Evolve remap on my trusty 320d e91. I had read loads of great reviews on here about evolve, mainly for the larger 6 cylinder d’s so I wasn’t sure what to expect with the remap on the baby 320d, but wow what a difference. It has transformed the car from what was a very good (but a bit dull) motor to one that puts a big grin on your face every time you put your foot down.

I went for the Evolve Switch and the whole process was really painless. We had a few email exchanges and calls and I managed I speak to Imran, Sultan and Sal, who were all brilliant, very knowledgeable and very patient, with some of my daft questions.

I did have some reservations about noticable gain and wasn’t sure if it would be money well spent on the 4 cylinder 163bhp diesel, but I took her out for a spin today to give her a blast and it is really very impressive. The power really comes on hard from around 2000 revs and pulls all the way up to 4500, it feels more like a petrol than a diesel and when the power comes on it sounds good too, which is not something that I thought I would say about the 320d.

When you put your foot down it just takes off, which makes overtaking effortless. Even in 6th you just touch the pedal and she takes off, whereas before if you wanted to overtake swiftly on the motorway you needed to drop a gear, you no longer need to. As it still has the same power curve characteristics it is still just as refined and driveable as it was before the remap and around town you wouldn’t notice the difference, but get it on the open road and get heavy footed and it is a whole new car.

I wanted to keep it all above board, so I did tell my insurance company, and when they finally realised what I was talking about they uped my premium by £130 a year, which I think is a bit step, but I will shop around when it comes up for renewal.

First impression….. well impressed, it’s transformed the car and made it a whole lot more fun to drive. The guys at Evolve really know their stuff and the service and advice was top notch, thanks guys.

If its this good on the 320d, the 335d must be awsome!

I had my 320d done by Evolve and echo all you've said - the guys are great and that feeling when you first take it out for a test drive is amazing!!

I have remapped every diesel and petrol turbo car I've owned all with great results. I used Viezu technologies for my 335d and the difference is like day/night absolutely awesome

Glad to hear you are happy

If I had a more tuneable motor a remap would be THE first mod.

Great job. Enjoy her!

Yep. Echoed my sentiments when I got mine done back in the spring.

It is a pretty fun car to drive all things considered. And does fool quite a few heavier 3 litre and more cars off the line due to all that torque of the devil.

She's very interesting in the wet though. Be careful around those corners. traction control isn't enough to save you now with the torque you have..
