Soot all over egr cooler and egr valve ????
I’ve been having soot covering the front half of my engine ! Seems to be either mostly at the egr cooler to egr valve flange or the spring on the egr valve .
Any other possibility or ideas of the cause? Just started not long ago. Its a ‘09 335d It has 160k. Oil change every 5k Intake was blasted at 98k No lights But will get turbo under boost if I step on it to hard but even that is a intermittent light . I believe that will be the pressure boost control valves in the end. Not sure of any other info that would help THANKS 🙏 Last edited by Bham; 07-31-2020 at 10:49 AM.. Reason: More info |

In my 335d, there are some soot near the EGR cooler spring valve. It is much less than your car but I replaced the EGR cooler at ~80 K miles because spring broke.

So, you think it’s the cooler not the egr valve? Spring on the cooler is on the bottom of the cooler , on mine craps on top all over the hood and everywhere else ! I changed that V clamp too where they connect.
And ,335dici what are do ya got ? A egr cooler or egr valve? |
