bmw e92 SA 6FL should have a usb port?
I know 6FL versions should have a usb somewhere, but for some reason my car doesn't have usb port neither in the glove box or arm rest.
335i 2007 pre LCI i believe Bluetooth for calls only iPod cable in glove box aux port in arm rest at this point am not sure if the car is fitted with 6fl or if there is a way to change the iPod cable to usb port. i have no clue what am talking about all i need is a way to stream the songs on the screen using the steering wheel controls. thanks in advance |

I'd imagine that was some sort of ipod integration thing.
my 08 with 6fl has usb in the center console. I would check the wiring at the aux connector and see if the stuff for the USB port is present, then get a USB/aux jack and install it. It will recognize a 128gb flash drive. |

trace it from the Mulf 2 module physically .
It's normally in the center console . If somebody retrofitted it they may not have bothered to route it from the trunk or routed it somewhere else. Usb is hardly useless if you play music from a flash drive. Better than cdc player , no moving parts, and can store much more. Requires the ancient concept that you actually like your music enough to own it. How do you know it has 6fl did you look for the Mulf2 module or Read 6fl on a Vin checker. Does usb show up on any of the radio or idrive menu's? |

Do you see "USB" on your radio display when choosing the music source?
If you have Bluetooth, and only an Aux input in the armrest, you most likely have a TCU in the trunk, and no 6FL option installed. Only way to know for sure is to look in the trunk under the floor cover. If that's the case, you'd need to do a 6FL retrofit if you want USB. That would require parts (MULF2 Hi, usb/aux port, wiring harness, etc...), and coding. I did this in my '06 330i, and once I found all the info I needed regarding coding, it wasn't that difficult. Cheers! |

The photo you show does not directly identify the box that label
is usually on the side. The easiest way to see if the car came with 6fl from the factory is to run the Vin on a Vin checker. In an 07 the mulf is under the TCU which is what seem's to be in your picture. http://www.e90post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=1181654 |
