Engine mount stuck on engine side

I have dropped my subframe and removed two lower bolts and the one top nut from my engine mount on the passenger side but cannot get the mount to let go of the engine side. I have used a crowbar from the side and partially reinstalled the top nut and hammered down....still no luck. anyone have tips here?

I did engine mounts on my E91 this past week. I simply jacked the engine up with a 2x4 under the oil pan and finagled the mount out fairly simply. Bolt the subframe back and make sure all 3 mounting points are loosened and it should pop right out when you jack the motor up.

** looks as if your top nut is still attached.

I think the engine mount bracket sits mostly on rubber. If the top stud does not release it may be the rust between the stud and the bracket, because I do not think rubber will grip that hard.

How about a 2x4 against the mount from the side, and whack the 2x4 with a hammer? I do not think the top stud is that close a fit.

Also as mentioned, put the two lower bolts back in, and loosen the top nuts sufficiently. Then slowly jack the engine up, supporting the pan with a wood block, and see if that loosens the grip.

And if you start whacking on or near that bracket, be aware that the 4 bracket bolts are known to break, both sides. 4 bolt kits are about $11 each side.

Solved, was caked with rust. I cut and welded angle iron so that I could reach it from the top. Installed the nut part way to keep centered and hit repeatedly. 20 hits in and it popped free.
