It sure doesn't look like a 4x4

hey guys,

I went to the dealer to check out my E90 335 xdrive with M-spec today. Before I went, I was worried that the car will have a lifted look. I was set to get the KW or HR coilover sheerly for cosmetic reasons. However, the car's stance looks good. In fact, I think the ride height is similar to my E90 M3, which I had before.

I will have to drive it to appreciate if the non-sport suspension is way too soft. But in terms of look, I think it's perfect. Case in point, 535xi with M-spec has a lifted look just like the pre-2009 xi E90 models. Further, 5-series does not have staggered setup like E90 does.

Can anyone confirm if the E90 M-spec has sports suspension?

Excited to pick up my car next week.

Cheers,
Derek

no sport suspension on any xi. and the ride height is the same for the '09s as it was for the '07s and '08s. If yours looks lower, it is probably just psychological. Or may the cosmetic enhancements that come with the m-spec package provide some sort of optical illusion?

The ride height never really bothered me on the xi. Sure, it's not SoCal slammed, but I bought the XI for a functuional sport coupe.

I don't think you'll be disapointed at delivery. Congratulations on the new baby!

ride height never bothered me until I changed the wheels. After adding 19's the car looked ridiculous.

That could be because the car looks ridiculous with 19's

18's on an e90 are "The Look" IMHO

Sorry, I don't know the offset. The person I bought them told me they were from an XI, so I picked them up. Front 18x8.5 235/40 Rear 18x9.5 265/35. Thanks.

Any rubbing issues on the rear? They do look great to me with the +20mm rear and +10mm front extension from the OEM 18's. Also those tire sizes are a little bigger than stock - be careful if you do lower it.

No rubbing on the rear as of yet. I am not going to get silly with the drop as roads in my area are garbage. I will definitely go easy, thanks for the heads up.

I doubt it. You will be able to come down quite a bit before you might have rubbing issues, you probably won't have any at all. That's the beauty of coilovers if it rubs just raise it up a bit till you find the happy medium. You won't be disappointed.
