I took the car out today and so far so good with no problems as for the exhaust tone and rasp..minimal drone still...sounds perfect....I will report back after some more mileage on the resonators and let you know for sure my accessment on them...Right now I am loving them, but need to find out if any more of that resonator packing material is coming out of the tailpipe...Today after driving around there was only a small, small trace of this material probably residual material from the other night when I first notice this material...Some of the material from looking into the tailpipes was deep into the muffler which I could not clean because it wasn't reachable!!..Keep you posted about this issue, if indeed it is even a problem...Spoke to Rep from Vibrant two days ago and he stated if it continues to exhibit this for a prolong period then its defective, but looking at the amount I saw today, there isn't anything alarming about it...Keep you guys posted |

One last video of cold startup...ambient temps 30 degrees....The exhaust is SIGNIFICANTY quieter with the resonators installed on cold startup after testing it for a few days! Neighbors no longer will hate me!
Cold startup of engine (24 degrees ambient) Cold startup of engine (30 degrees ambient) Fully warmed engine revving... Last edited by cn555ic; 01-08-2010 at 11:55 AM.. |

Took the car out for a nice ride straight highway drive for 50+ miles with a couple of WOTs here and there....I had to get my suspension checked out over my mechanic( friend) ...Got home and checked my exhaust piping and there is no more evidence of this material coming out anymore!!!!
For those that have been waiting on my feedback, its good to go!! No more problems on the resonators to report...I have driven over 250 miles on them already... One thing I do notice is that going completely catless, my tailpipes need to be cleaned more often...I have to polish them more often then before, but thats a drawback of going catless but it doesn't outweigh the performance aspect going catless! |

Sounds great. Need to get a set of these ordered... once I can verify they will fit. Just can't seem to find any time to work on the car. uhggg. So many mods, not enough time.

Took the car out today to do some errands and see a couple of friends, since it was a beautiful, sunny 18 degrees outside!
Drove the car to my friends house who heard my fully catless exhaust 2 days before I installed the resonators, so he knew how loud it was without the resonators on both a cold start and running in D mode, and he was quite impressed on how much the resonators dampened the droning and the rasp and overall loudness of the exhaust system! Went home after about 1 hour of driving and checked the tailpipes once again for any signs of packing material, and there is no trace of it at all again.... I will update this post in a month or two to let you know whats going on, but for those of you thinking about getting them, Cheapest price that I found was from....StreetSideAuto.com 95 bucks shipped Last edited by cn555ic; 01-10-2010 at 07:38 PM.. |

Here is AA exhaust from the bottom..Hope that helps! Look at the pic past the xpipe and brace parallel to the gas tank where there is straight piping on both sides...I would think that would be your install location, only thing have that needs to be verified is height clearance which shouldn't be a problem since exhaust piping is 2.5 and the diameter of the resonator is 3.5.....One inch should not be a problem IMO. |

UPDATE: I have logged over 600+ miles on the resonators and its been working perfectly! No more traces of this packing material that I saw for the first couple of days....Noise dampening of the catless exhaust is the same as works flawlessly with my CPE exhaust and catless AR DPs...Its been a journey to finally find a cheap solution to fine tune my exhaust note to what I believe is acceptable and not obnoxious...I bet if I added another two more resonators to the exhaust it would be even quieter!! lol

Just to give you guys an update on the resonators....Everything is working perfectly still after 1100 miles with them...I have fine tuned my exhaust with these resonators to give me a exhaust note that I love again...THe exhaust note is almost exactly the same as before going with the catless DPs...Before installing these resonators, the car sounded very raspy and IMO CHEAP and ricey!!

cn555ic, were you getting any vibrations at low rpms before (or after) the resonator install? i know i have to readjust mine for some rubbing, just wondering if anyone is having vibration issues although they are not rubbing.

I have AR catless and AE exhaust with HFC. Just curious as to how I can quiet down the exhaust a little bit without obstruction. |

If you want to quiet down the exhaust, these are your friend for sure...if you install it to your AE, I will almost gurantee that it will eliminate the little drone that you have and also quiet it down significantly...I already have experienced this with my exhaust and my CP-E exhaust from what I know is alot louder than your AE exhaust which already has resonators kind of built into the tips of your exhaust! If you add these resonators somewhere along the midpipes, you will be happy!

Yep, a straight run of piping at least 14 inches to 13 inches at most will be necessary, which I think almost every exhaust system will have a section that is straight, difference is the location, but with these resonators it doesn't matter if its at the beginning or near the end of the midpipes
