Does exhaust pipe change sound?
Hey BMW lovers. I have a question about exhaust pipes. Does they change exhaust sound, or they are only for beauty? I noticed, that you can buy a many different pipes, but what are their benefits? I have BMW e90 (2006) 330d (diesel), if it possible, to improve exhaust sound with "special pipe" or maybe there are another way to do this?

Hey man you're kind of in the wrong section. Don't think many here including me know much about diesels lol. This is for NA n52 and such id suggest you post on the Diesel section.
Either way from general knowledge most exhaust systems will be made to improve sound to an extent. If I had a diesel the first thing I'd do is get rid of the DPF and all that diesel emissions bs that's stuck on the exhaust and I'm sure that'd improve how it sounds too |

Rules in the OP's country may prohibit DPF removal. If you do it in my country (UK) you'll never pass the annual safety check. Any interference with emissions equipment is an automatic fail...
