I can't do it by myself. I'll shoot my eye out. no really, I know where I want to go and what day/time....it's been posted in the thread here....maybe a new poll for location might help...but I think we should do it at Hula Hut because of the parking and the restaraunt's ability to accommodate large parties. thanks for the pic 328ZSP...I modified it (in Paint lol) to show all the parking... the blue is the restaraunt area...yellow and green are ground parking lots....red is the parking garage.....the purplish color is path of entry from Lake Austin Blvd west of Loop 1 (Mopac). somebody count the parking spaces |

Since I'm not too familiar with Austin I can't think of any place else. Hula sounds cool but the lots are pretty hidden from view if I remember correctly. We should meet at a mall parking lot or something really open. I know there is a TON of space at Lakline mall where the Ultimate Electronics used to be. I'm not neccasarily saying there but someplace like that. |

Somebody has WAY too much time on their hands!
We might be able to get BMW Austin involved once we figure out a date and location. I talked to my CA and he said they have helped with a get together like this before. |

how would they (BMW of Austin) help???
If we're going to meet somewhere else before arriving at Hula Hut, it should probably be close somewehre to it... just a thought... |

i think we should just do it at hula hut. i dont know about sponsors and all that. i think that it should be a little more informal. just show up, meet every one, take a ton of pictures and who ever wants to, go eat some food. i think that if we try to "plan" every single little thing, its going to become to complicated and nothing will get planned.

im suprised u guys in austin still havent decided on a place yet.
just do it somewhere for the love of god, so we can get something concrete for outside members, and then a date/time. if u wanna get BMW austin involved, thats great, if u guys can also get some bimmer performance shops there too to sponsor, that wud also be great. has anyone posted any details of this texas meet on bimmerpost or e46fanatics at the least?

I spoke with OUR Sales guy and they said they were involved with a meet like this before. What "involved" means, I have no clue! ANY involvement by them I think would be good, even if it's just to get the word out. |

YO! the vert is in!!!! I picked it up this past Saturday at BMW of Austin. The dealership is great, I dealt with John Dickerson. He's truly phenominal. The only bad thing was dealing with the finance advisor Josh Wheelock. He was rude, almost racist, and had a "didn't give a F***" attitude towards me. I told the dealership if I was doing my finances through him, I'm going to buy my car somewhere else. So they ended up sending me over to the Pre-Owned finance advisor Danny something to get my paperwork taken care of. The overall experience was great, besides my encounter with Josh. But that did leave a soar mark, as I will now be associating the car with his stupid attitude.
so for those fellow austinites / austinians who are going to pick your new set of wheels up, beware. |

I agree, we should start in the afternoon, and that way, by the time the sun sets, we have all of the "good" parking spots, and we'll be getting ready to roll out.
plus, if we meet at sunset, it'll get dark. I'd think everyone would prefer a "day" time event... just my 0002 |

where is the OP? wesley_willis, are you still interested in helping to coordinate this meet?
Is everyone OK with Hula Hut? Or should I make a poll for location? |

I'm Mike. We don't really need anything else except to decide on place, date, and time. Once we do that, I'll let hockeynut know and we'll have a bunch of bimmerfest members joining us. hockeynut is not going to schedule the normal monthly austin meet in May so that group will be more likely to come to this meet. My vote is Hula Hut, Sunday May 11th, at 1:30pm. Meet and greet until 2-2:30 and then eat. Followed by a hill country drive heading down south, then west, then back north. With plenty of time for ad-libbing to the event. If anyone, especially those from out of town, wants to stay into the evening and venture on, I'm sure there will be willing members. Does that sound ok to you guys? |
