DMTL Pump Codes 2A12, 2A13, 2A18
I have an E90, 2007 335xi throwing 2A12, 2A13, and 2A18 error codes.
According to BMW Logger: 2A12,2,DMTL solenoid valve, activation 2A13,2,DMTL leak diagnosis pump, activation 2A18,4,DMTL, heater: activation I replaced the DMTL pump earlier today and cleared the codes. The check engine light came back immediately on next startup. I suspect that these codes indicate a wiring issue between the DMTL pump and the car, but I have no idea where to look. (All three error codes seem to indicate a problem with input signals to DMTL.) Any ideas? |

Look at the wiring coming off the pump itself. Where it comes out from behind the wheel well liner there is part of the body/frame that it will rub on. Once you're in there you should see it clear as day.

I was having a similar issue last year, I didn't get the time to fix it though before I put the car away. Here's a thread I had found when I was searching around. A few of the guys that posted indicated that the pump wasn't the issue, it was a wiring problem.

I can confirm that the wiring harness was bad.
I unplugged the pump and removed the wrap around the wiring harness. About two inches up from the connector, one of the wires was broken. It looks like the plastic broke and the copper corroded away until there was nothing left. I spliced in a new wire, put some heat shrink around it, wrapped the harness back up, cleared codes and I was back in business. |

Yeah I totally get it but that doesn't mean you should revive every single thread and steal other people's threads. This forum is full of knowledgeable people but not everyone is online 24/7 you have to give the threads some time for more information.
