wow, that's pretty awesome.

i've only been in the E90 game for 3 or 4 weeks so i got a ton of questions at the moment HAHA !!!!

i think the JB3 and the Vishnu's plug and play will keep me entertained for now. i think the JB3 is clearly the "best bang for the buck" - and it's REALLY safe.

i got warranty but i couldn't even begin to imagine how much some new piston rings or a tranny would cost

well, based on my extensive research, the E90's drivetrains are built from bits and pieces of the earth's core mixed with Chuck Norris' beard clippings.

it's strong as shit and i "know" i shouldn't really worry about anything, BUT..........

the only time you have to worry about BMW drivetrain strength (generally)

bad tuning.
or
stupidity.

other than that, you can really beat the hell out of the majority of BMW drivetrains without much fuss.
hell S52 engines can survive to 700HP turbo'ed before worrying about head studs, rods or pistons. that engine was never designed to be turboed and has a 10.5:1 compression ratio.

with an N54 and for what its worth, they survive with 450 hp to them without much fuss, no?

whats keeping them from going WAY higher? they have a bedplate, decent rods and pistons-

Thread Killer skunkworks is trying to work up a project for an N54 to go into a dragster, with aluminum rods, direct injection running a Motec standalone, naturally asperated and RPM's to the moon. we'll see what it will make if the guy pulls the trigger. we are debating between N54 or N52KP, S54 or S52. i know its a large range of engines and technology, but its his money im just the tool doing the work
