Bummer - this isn't like Amazon where you check out and pay for the car right away. Carmax will let you reserve it for free and they will hold it for you for like a week until you can drive it. You can also have it shipped to your local store for the test drive (for closer distances, it can be anywhere from free to a couple hundred; cross-country is $2k).

You just need an account - hit "Hold this car" and click through the screens. It'll show up as unavailable for everyone else. Buys you at least a week to figure out the money.

I think you can only have one car reserved at a time, and if you reserve one, you can't release it without calling into their system.

Thanks Boston good to know. I've never dealt with them before. I REALLY liked that color combo. Unfortunately I have a 2004 4runner and a 2004 Nissan Titan I'm selling that is my BMW play money that are taking up room in the driveway. My wife is tired of hearing about my car hunt and if I went to her saying I'm going to buy a $14k car while those two areH still sitting there she'd understandably loose her mind at that prospect.The Nissan is really low miles and the truck market is hot so even though I didn't have all the parts I needed for it I listed it for sale hoping to sell it before that red wagon disappeared.

BTW I love how this thread is cool with people posting cars even if they're not in the market and mods allowing a little discussion inside the thread as folks keep it on track.
