Anybody used this stud and nut conversion set?

Wheel bolts are such a PITA, especially when you've got spacer shims! I'm tempted by this set off amazon but not sure if they are decent or not. It's pretty important they're not made of chocolate grade steel

Grade 10.9 steel should be a bit tougher than a Dairy Milk anyway

They're made in Italy, same as Bimecc, and the price is reasonable for the kit, so I'd say they're a good purchase.

Key question is whether 68mm is long enough to allow for the thickness of the wheel and your spacers and still allow enough thread for the nuts...

Yeah, I need to do some maths. I’ve got oem BMW wheels and only 5mm shims on the rears so I don’t need anything too extreme.

I’ve just remember when I fitted the shims I felt the standard bolts weren’t long enough so I ordered 10 longer ones they are 55mm long in total with 30mm of thread. This 68mm kits has a 48mm length protruding from the hub but the last approximately 10mm (looking at the picture) doesn’t have thread so that’s about 38mm of ‘useful’ thread.
So in theory they should be more than long enough.

You’ll be fine with that length. Mine are the same length I’m sure and I’m running 5mm spacers too and there’s plenty of thread.

Actually let me check as I might even have a full set of studs as I swapped mine out for titanium ones.

I’m not in any hurry to do the conversion. I’ve put a self imposed ban on myself car tinkering until the weather starts warming up!

Cool and good idea. I’ll still check as if do have them then then do you a deal on them as they’ll never be used again.

Tbh I had a good look and only have 18 studs (as I think 2 may have been damaged possibly) and do have a variety of nuts but you might as well just buy a complete set from somewhere. Can also recommend TPI for sets too.
