Swirl Flap delete

Does anyone know if I do the swirl flap delete if I will throw a check engine light and will it effect the workings of the egr in any way? Have a 09 335d with all emissions still in tact due to California regulations. I will be removing the manifold to change glow plugs, controller and looking into doing the delete. Will take a look at the carbon buildup as it has never been done with 124k miles on it now. Thanks.

SES may come on. Doesn't affect egr. They can be reinstalled before smog to set readiness for smog.

If you leave the shaft intact, SES probably won't come on - there's a sensor to ensure that it's rotating.

Leave the swirl flap actuator plugged in for no cel. You can remove the shaft that goes to the flaps no problem.

I deleted mine last month awhile replacing two injectors. No loss in power cause going to the track and daily driving seems to be the same. But I also left it plugged in and left the shaft in but I guess you can take the shaft out too.

I am in the same boat...glow plug and module. 180k miles on my 2011 335d no record of cbu cleaning. Check out AAR on utube...he came up with a new way to clean intake by pumping degreaser through it. That is my plan if needed...

Please post a report on the glow plug and module work...
