Comfort Entry - What?

Was flicking through I-drive last night and came across 3 options in the lock menu:

Drivers door only
All doors
Comfort entry.

I do not have the comfort access option, and to my understanding all coupe's when pressing the unlock button twice, when opening the doors the windows roll down half way to allow easier (comfort?) access.

Is that all it is? Why have the option in idrive if you have to press the button twice to work this function anyway? and on non i-drive cars, you can't switch it off?

Because... if you have option 1 driver's only, pressing it twice opens all doors, thus all doors and comfort are mutually exclusive and hence the setting; ya can't have both!

+1 , you don't have to press button to unlock the car or put the key in the ignition to start it .You can swipe your finger/hand next to the door lock and it locks/unlock Pretty cool option , my mate has it on his 650i .

I've got this on my 335i. As M5rius said you just grab the door handle and it unlocks as long as you have the key on you, and you can just press the start button without the key in the slot. It also works on the boot again just rub your figure over the sensor on the boot lid and it unlocks and opens. Cool option

I have this too. Didn't care if I had it or not when I got the car but now I have used it for a few years I'd miss it if I didn't have it. Only proplem I have is using comfort access to lock it as I have coded mirrors to fob I always have to use fob to lock otherwise the mirrors stay out 😠
Anyway that's comfort access not comfort entry I think they are different comfort entry / dropping Windows upon opening Is what u do walking across car park on a red hot day to let some hot air out the car before u get there.
If you have 3 little lines on the top of the key hole surround then u have comfort access

Sorry, I don't think people have read my first post properly, I DO NOT have the comfort access option on my car (the door handles DO NOT have the ribbed part where you apply your thumb pressure to unlock the doors, nor will the car start without the fob).

I don't follow sorry, First option unlocks drivers door as it states, second option opens both doors (it's a coupe) so why would comfort access open both doors as per the 2nd option?

To clairy, on comfort access option selected in idrive, one unlock press opens both doors, two unlock presses opens both doors and rolls window down half way upon opening the door to allow easier access as coupe doors are longer then 4door....it does actually aid access. BUT (and i've not tried this yet) de-selecting comfort access and selecting both doors, with 2 unlock presses Im SURE it will roll windows down too. I could be mistaken and my Q is, is comfort entry just that.....rolls windows down on 2nd unlock press?

Old thread but I would love to know which modules need to be coded with what to enable this. I have an '09 e92 and mine does not do this, but I do know how to code my car.

Yeah I have the same question. What does comfort entry mean. As I have e92 with no keyless.

I was wondering this too, could not figure out the difference between the 3 options as I don’t have comfort access on my E92 either.

Comfort entry on a e92; unlock car, open door slightly & press unlock but on on remote, window rolls halfway down. Close the door window goes back up.
