DIY: Blue/red push start button
Since the F series have it.. it's time for the E series
I picked blue instead of red because i don't like red. Some of you might not like the color, but the blue matches the stitching in my car. I will post some installed pics later because i haven't put it back yet. Bought it from http://www.bimlandperformance.com during their pre-order. Step 1: Use a plastic pry tool and go behind the trim Step 2: Detach the cord and the push start button by clicking two locking tabs. Step 3: Detach the push start button from the trim by clicking locking tabs and go towards you, now you will see an empty hole Step 4: Remove the silver ring by pulling it off 4 locking tabs Step5: Remove the black push start BUTTON by using something small and flat, it should come right off Step 6: Put the new button by matching the locking tabs, and there's an extended plastic, so I don't think you would place it upside down. Step 6.5: Put the silver ring back on Step 7: Push the Push start button back into the trim and trim into the dash = done Last edited by Blueeyesredpanda; 04-05-2018 at 02:37 PM.. |

Yeah idk why it doesn’t come up on google but I was on their site a couple of days ago. I originally saw it on their Instagram, they posted a picture and said they available on their site.

Honest opinion, does the button look OEM quality or can you tell right away it's a cheaper aftermarket piece?

The button itself is pretty elastic i installed it then took it out few times with a flat screw driver, the tabs still haven't been broken and the color is solid, so I would say it's pretty OEM spec

Does anyone think these look cheesy? I have the burlwood look interior trim, I am contemplating if the red would be too contrasting? Feel this only looks good with the silver/brushed or CF wrap look. Any others thoughts?
